One of the most important clubs in the history of rock music, this little hole in wall in lower Manhattan nurtured almost every important NYC punk and new wave act of the late '70's and early '80's. The Ramones, Blondie, The Talking Heads, Television, The Shirts and dozens of others called this venue home.

Just as important, it was one of the most important tour stops for punk and new wave acts from around the planet - The Police, The Runaways, The Replacements, DEVO and many others all played defining gigs early in their careers at CBGB's.

On July 13th, 1985, hundreds of musicians in different cities around the world came together to play a synchronized and televised concert event to raise money for famine relief in Africa. Queen, U2, Dire Straits, Elvis Costello, Sting, David Bowie, The Who, Black Sabbath, Paul McCartney, The Pretenders, Tom Petty, The Cars, Neil Young and Led Zeppelin (just to name a few!) contributed sets to the amazing event.

In the spirit of the original concert, our Live Aid - Remade events will all raise money for Music for Relief efforts to help rebuild Haiti after their tragic earthquake earlier this year.
