1 Week Summer Boot Camp

 

 

The Paul Green School of Fort Washington is pleased to announce our new SUMMER BOOT CAMP. Our summer program provides an opportunity for students to create their own songs based on the solid principles of our successful performance-based after school program. 

 

     Two Sessions

Learning to Rock

So, you wanna be a rock star? Here's your chance! For an entire week, each student will get an intense rock music experience, like only the Paul Green School of Rock Music can provide. Each day, campers will spend time honing their skills on their instrument of choice as well as learning to perform and function in a band. Other topics that will be covered include:

Organizing a rock show
Promotion/Booking/Building a Press Kit
Writing Set Lists
Composing Original Songs/Copyrighting
Equipment Repair and Maintenance
How to Set up and Run Sound
Rock Music History/Influential and Important Figures & Music
Stage Presence
Vocal & Ear Training/Singing Back up and Harmony Vocals
Music Theory
And much more!

Our staff consists of working professional musicians with years of teaching experience that will provide campers with the best of both worlds, technical knowledge as well as real world professional playing experience. They can also look forward to guest speakers from the professional music world, to share with them their experiences and stories to give the campers an inside look into the reality of the music industry.

At the end of each session, campers will put on their own rock shows in our on-site venue space that is equipped with a professional stage, professional sound gear and light show. The music they will be playing
will be a sampling from the Paul Green School of Rock Music Fort Washington's current season, plus original material that they write as a group while at camp.


Camp materials and snacks will be provided by the School.


A typical day's schedule:

9:30am-10:30am    Private/Small group instrument instruction
10:30am-11am       Rock history
11am-11:30am       Original Song Writing
11:30am-12pm       Guest Speaker from the Music Industry
12pm-1pm              Lunch
1pm-3pm                Band Rehearsal

Don't miss our spring shows: A “Tribute to The Who” on May 11 & 12 @8pm and Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” on May 18 & 19 @8pm.  All shows will take place at our in-school venue.
