Director, Digital

Summary:

The Director, Digital leads all strategic online and web-based B2C and B2B marketing efforts domestically and globally.  The ideal candidate is a hands-on marketer with a track record of category-leading results across online channels, including SEM, SEO, display, email/email automation, social/paid social, web development/UX, eCommerce and online merchandising. This individual must have a strategic, data-driven foundation and a sense of pragmatism and “street smarts” to allow her/him to 1) identify and measure business opportunities, and 2) execute them in a way customers will accept.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Website management -  The Director is responsible for leading all consumer and franchise development website initiatives, development, testing, UX/design and reporting
  2. Consumer digital marketing -  Leads digital tactics, programs and campaign media aimed at growing School of Rock’s consumer business (enrollments at its 250+ locations worldwide) including digital video, paid social, display, email/CRM 
  3. Paid search -  Accountable for managing internal and external partners to drive paid search performance  
  4. Franchising digital marketing.  All digital marketing efforts to find and develop new franchisees 
  5. Company school marketing - Director, Digital will oversee incremental digital efforts and investments in corporate owned locations to drive enrollment in schools  
  6. SEO - Leads all SEO strategies and roadmapping will be led by this Director

                                                                               

Other responsibilities:

  • Digital advertising, including SEM, display, affiliate and email marketing
  • Websites management (Consumer and Franchise Development websites)
  • Manage relationships with strategic marketing partners and agencies
  • Content marketing for the purposes of SEO, social engagement and lead generation
  • Develop innovative student acquisition strategies – maximizing existing channels and developing new channels 
  • Create ad-hoc analyses, business cases and financial models to justify decisions and recommendations
  • Manage reporting/dashboarding to show and measure of all website and digital program performance  
  • Manage short- and long-term digital calendar of all initiatives and programs
  • Drive social media strategy across all social channels
  • Maintain an intimate knowledge of marketing analytics and leverage this knowledge to ensure efficient management of all marketing activities
  • Project manage complex, cross-functional projects to on-time launches with perfect execution

 

 Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or equivalent professional qualification required. 
  • MBA preferred
  • 8 plus years marketing experience including 2 plus years’ experience at director level preferred
  • 5plus years experience leading and managing a team and outside agencies
  • Franchise industry experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in Education field preferred 
  • Deep, hands-on experience with digital media, including SEM, display, social, email and SEO
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage projects from inception through execution
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Entrepreneurial, self-starter that gets excited about rolling up their sleeves and digging into the work
  • Possess “street smarts” and pragmatism to blend strategy with logical execution
  • Possesses a “polish” and conducts themselves with a high-level of professionalism
