The School of Rock Community | Franchise Owner Testimonial

Quinn Lukas and Dan Moore have had the chance to watch some of their School of Rock students grow up right in front of them. Last year, two students graduated after spending 11 years at their school.

Over that time, Quinn and Dan saw them develop as musicians, but they also got to see the people they became along the way. “You get to watch them just grow up and not only grow musically, but become awesome women. It’s super special.” Being part of moments like these is one of the reasons Quinn and Dan describe owning a School of Rock franchise as the most rewarding thing they’ve ever done.

A Franchise Community That Supports Each Other

Running a business means eventually coming across a question or situation you haven’t dealt with before. Quinn and Dan appreciate that when this happens, they have an entire community of School of Rock franchise owners they can reach out to for help.

“The benefit of being in a system like School of Rock is the support. There are so many of us, and if you ever have a question about anything or a scenario that you’re facing, all you have to do is ask and someone’s gonna reach out and help you.”

Additionally, Dan and Quinn have been named 2026 Franchisees of the Year by the International Franchise Association (IFA). The IFA Franchisee of the Year award recognizes owners for excellence in entrepreneurship, community outreach, workforce development, and service to others. Watching Students Grow Through Music

Quinn and Dan also get to see firsthand what happens when students stick with music for years.

School of Rock approaches music education differently from traditional private lessons. Students begin playing songs they’re excited about and performing with other musicians early in the learning process. Music theory and fundamentals are taught along the way, so students can develop their skills while actually making music.

Playing in a band also gives students plenty of opportunities to learn how to collaborate with other people and become more comfortable performing in front of an audience. As they progress through the program, many students build confidence and friendships alongside their musical abilities.
When students stay with a school for years, owners and instructors get to know them and their families well. These franchise owners have been able to watch students go from their first rehearsals and performances to graduating as young adults.

They describe being even a small part of that experience as incredibly meaningful.

“To be a small part in [our students]
becoming awesome humans. It’s just the best place ever.”

Creating a Community Around Music

School of Rock now teaches more than 80,000 students around the world, with more than 452 franchise units open globally. Each location also has its own community of students, families, instructors and staff who spend years learning and making music together.

Students come to School of Rock for all kinds of reasons. Some already know that music is their thing, while others are still trying to figure out where they fit.

The School of Rock performance-based model brings students together in bands, giving them a chance to play with other people who are excited about music too. Rehearsals, lessons and live performances become opportunities to develop their skills and get to know other students.

Over time, a music school can become a pretty important place in a kid’s life. Quinn and Dan’s experience with students who stayed for 11 years is a good example of just how long those relationships can last.

Why they love Owning a School of Rock

When Quinn and Dan talk about School of Rock, they keep coming back to the relationships they’ve built.
They have a network of other franchise owners they can call when they need advice, and they’ve gotten to know students and families who have been part of their school for years. Some of those students arrived as kids and eventually left as young adults.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been happier in my life.”

After getting to watch their students grow and knowing they played a role in that experience, they have a pretty simple way of describing School of Rock ownership.

"Hands down,
the most rewarding thing
I’ve ever done."

If you're exploring franchise ownership and looking for a business with a strong brand, exceptional support, and a mission that truly comes to life, School of Rock is ready to help you take the next step.
