CAMP DESCRIPTION
The Prog Show is one of the most challenging and rewarding School of Rock experiences! Progressive Rock—also known as Prog Rock, Art Rock, Symphonic Rock, or Classical Rock—breaks away from traditional song structures and pushes musicians to explore complex arrangements, extended solos, unique instrumentation, and bold musical ideas.
From the groundbreaking sounds of King Crimson, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Genesis, and Jethro Tull to the progressive masterpieces of Pink Floyd and Yes, Prog has continued to evolve. Later artists like Dream Theater, Queensrÿche, TOOL, Opeth, The Mars Volta, and Coheed and Cambria have pushed the genre even further.
During this 3-day Winter Break Camp, students will dive into some of Prog's most challenging and exciting songs while developing their skills in technique, timing, musicality, and ensemble playing.
Whether you're already a Prog fanatic or you're ready to take your playing to the next level, this camp is designed to challenge you, push your limits, and make you a stronger musician.
