What is HOUSE BAND?

House Band is an invitation-only band that features our most motivated, dedicated, positive, and musically-skilled students who truly love music, love performing, love being part of our community, and want more of it! House Band gives you the opportunity to be in an advanced band and play more shows. These performances showcase our students in the broader community and help promote our school. House Band plays year-round at community events, fundraisers, street fairs, parties, corporate & private events, running races, festivals, and more. We play stages of sizes, and for a wide variety of audiences. Some years we even get to play at Red Rocks! Sometimes our House Band goes on an epic summer tour – we’ve performed in New Mexico, Utah, Wisconsin, Illinois, and all over Colorado. 

Musicians get a “real band” experience that’s different from our regular Performance Program groups. House Band is merit-based and you are expected to learn songs quickly, thoroughly, and perform at a high level.

Equally important, House Band members are leaders and positive contributors within our community and represent School of Rock Broomfield out in public. Band members are held to a high standard of conduct. You’ll also be asked to do things like haul gear, promote shows, set a good example for other students, and volunteer around the school (you’ll often see House Band members helping out in Rock 101, Rookies, and Summer Camps). 

The biggest and most compelling reason for wanting to join House Band is that you love music and performing and you want to do more of it! 

How does it work?

Students must pass an audition and be invited to join the House Band. 

-- The next audition is Monday August 10 in the evening.

-- The Audition Requirements Document will be posted on Band App in early July, and a QR Code will be available at the front desk that you can scan for the information

-- An informational meeting will be held online Sunday July 12 at 11am.

-- Read through the Audtion document THoroughly. Make sure you meet the eligibility requirements first, then Talk to your teachers about how to prepare your House Band audition and we'll see you on August 10!
