Green Day vs. Nirvana Camp – School of Rock

Our Green Day vs. Nirvana Camp dives into two of the most influential and iconic bands of the 90s. This high-energy camp gives students the chance to explore the sounds of pop-punk and grunge while learning what made each band unique — and why their music continues to define a generation.
 

Throughout the week, students will:

• Learn and rehearse classic songs from Green Day and Nirvana
• Study the signature elements of each band’s sound, including guitar tones, vocal styles, songwriting, and rhythm section dynamics
• Break into bands to collaborate, rehearse, and build performance skills
• Develop stage presence, musicianship, and confidence under the guidance of our professional instructors
• Prepare for a final performance where campers showcase songs from both legendary groups

This camp is perfect for young musicians who love rock, want to play powerful and iconic songs, and are ready to experience the excitement of performing in a real band. Whether students lean grunge, pop-punk, or somewhere in between, they’ll walk away with new skills, new friends, and a deeper appreciation for 90s rock.

WEEKLY SCHEDULE

• Camp runs Monday - Friday, 9am - 3pm each day
• Each day consists of rehearsals, practice time and fun music-based games and activities
• On Friday, campers will play and perform the songs they’ve been working on throughout the week! 

WHAT TO EXPECT

Students can expect an exciting and educational week of learning music taught by our talented camp instructors. Each day, students will be asked to bring lunch, snacks, water, and hearing protection.

At School of Rock, we are committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all campers. To help us maintain this space, we ask parents to avoid packing any nut products in lunches or snacks. We also prohibit any toy or real weapons from being brought to camp.
