Every 4 months, we announce the new show themes for the upcoming season. We choose our Performance and Adult Band themes based on our educational standards, while also trying to provide an exciting and fun experience to our students!
Please make sure to read our Show Description and Info Guide in its entirety. Whether you are currently enrolled or you are interested in getting started at School of Rock, there will be a ton of information that will help you plan for the Summer Season.
Signup forms are open NOW so fill out the School of Rock Cypress Summer 2026 Show Sign Up Form to send us your top three choices! The deadline for your form is June24th. Students may sign up after the deadline, but are less likely to be placed on a top preference show.

GREEN DAY vs weezer
Get ready for a high-energy summer showdown as **School of Rock Cypress** presents **Green Day vs. Weezer**!
This season, our students will take the stage to perform the unforgettable hits of two legendary alternative rock bands. From Green Day’s fast, rebellious punk-rock anthems to Weezer’s catchy, quirky power-pop classics, this show is packed with big guitars, driving drums, and sing-along choruses.
Audiences can expect songs full of attitude, energy, and nostalgia as our young musicians bring these iconic bands to life. Whether you’re a fan of **“Basket Case,” “American Idiot,” “Buddy Holly,”** or **“Say It Ain’t So,”** this summer performance will be a fun, loud, and unforgettable celebration of ’90s and 2000s rock.

70's hard rock
Get ready to turn it up as **School of Rock** presents a summer show dedicated to **’70s Hard Rock**!
This season, our students will dive into the powerful riffs, soaring vocals, thunderous drums, and larger-than-life energy that defined one of rock’s most iconic eras. From the heavy grooves of **Heart** and **Van Halen** to the arena-rock anthems of **Aerosmith, Deep Purple, AC/DC,** and more, this show celebrates the bands that shaped the sound of hard rock for generations.
Audiences can expect a high-energy performance packed with classic guitar solos, driving rhythms, and unforgettable songs that still shake the stage today. Our young musicians will bring the spirit of the ’70s to life with passion, confidence, and plenty of volume.

yacht rock
Set sail this summer with **School of Rock** for a smooth and sunny show dedicated to **Yacht Rock**!
Our students will dive into the polished grooves, silky harmonies, and laid-back vibes that defined the smooth sounds of the late ’70s and early ’80s. Featuring music inspired by artists like **Steely Dan, Toto, Stevie Wonder, Hall & Oates, Christopher Cross, Fleetwood Mac,** and more, this show celebrates the breezy melodies and sophisticated musicianship that make Yacht Rock timeless.
Audiences can expect feel-good classics, tight rhythms, soulful vocals, and plenty of summer energy as our young musicians bring these smooth hits to life on stage. From mellow grooves to upbeat singalongs, this performance will have everyone cruising through a night of unforgettable music.
