ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP

The Junior Musician Badge workshop is designed for scouts in 4th and 5th grade and is welcoming for beginners as well as scouts with prior music experience. The focus is on participation, creativity, and collaboration rather than technical instruction or performance skill.

During the workshop, scouts are introduced to how instruments make sound, listen to music from a variety of styles and cultures, and talk about how music shows up in their everyday lives. Scouts then work together on a simple group music activity and take part in a short, group performance.

The activities are designed to align with the Girl Scout Junior Musician Badge and support scouts in completing the badge during the workshop. The session is led by talented instructors at School of Rock Doylestown and takes place at our school. All instruments and materials are provided, and no preparation is required.
