NEW SHOWS ANNOUNCED: FALL SEASON STARTS AUGUST 31

Nine shows. One season. Zero filler. School of Rock Metairie/NOLA has locked in the Fall lineup, and our students are about to spend the next few months living inside some of the greatest catalogs ever recorded. They'll moonwalk through Michael Jackson, get loud and flannel-clad with The Seattle Sound, dig into the guitar-driven left-of-the-dial era with Alt Nation, and settle a decades-old argument once and for all in Boy Bands vs. Girl Bands. Women In Rock puts the spotlight on the artists who kicked the door in and held it open. Songwriting flips the whole thing — instead of learning someone else's songs, our students write their own and put them in front of a live crowd. Then the gloves really come off: Panic! At The Disco vs. Fall Out Boy, a Jam Bands set built for players who'd rather stretch out than stick to the script, and Audioslave vs. Rage Against The Machine to close it out with as much volume as the room can handle.

This is how School of Rock works. Students don't sit in a practice room waiting for someday — they get put in a band, handed a setlist, and pointed at a real stage in front of a real audience. That's where the actual learning happens.
