The Metairie roster just leveled up. Meet the newest members of the School of Rock family

Felix Allen — Drum Teacher

Felix came up in Raleigh, North Carolina on a steady diet of Hendrix, James Brown, and Art Blakey — and a Rush-loving mom who put sticks in his hands and let him pound the kit for a decade straight. He studied music at UNC-Chapel Hill and Florida State, taught at School of Rock, and ran jazz combos and jazz band as a grad assistant. These days you’ll catch him on New Orleans’ biggest stages — Jazz Fest, French Quarter Fest, Congo Square Rhythms — soaking up the city’s culture bearers and bringing that groove straight to our students.

Jason Williams — Drum Teacher

A born-and-raised New Orleans musician, Jason started on drums as a kid and never looked back — then added piano and fused the two into a sound all his own. A Warren Easton and NOCCA product, he’s sharpened his craft through the Trombone Shorty Foundation, the Jazz & Heritage School of Music, and the Louis Armstrong Summer Jazz Camp — the same programs that shaped some of the city’s finest. Now this multi-instrumentalist brings that versatility and deep NOLA influence to every lesson.

Ian Morel — Multi-Instrumentalist

Ian’s back home in New Orleans after four years teaching at School of Rock Waldwick (NJ) and Ashburn (VA), and he’s bringing serious range — he teaches all five disciplines, with a specialty in Guitar and Drums. A Marymount Manhattan grad, he’s worked as a musician and actor in New York, Nashville, and Northern Virginia. He’s also a writer and a luthier, so if it has strings, he can play it, teach it, or build it from scratch.
