WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
The Beatles are undoubtedly one of the most important rock ‘n’ roll bands of all time and their songs have greatly influenced the direction of modern music. Come celebrate the best songs from their vast collection of hits and Billboard-topping classics. Students at this music workshop will spend Monday through Friday learning and practicing songs from The Beatles, all culminating in a live performance. Great for students 8-18 years of age who have had some previous instruction.
Sample schedule for the week
Monday (9am drop off, 3pm pick up)
9am-10am: Intro and ice breakers
10am-12pm: Workshop and song assignment
12pm-1pm: lunch
1pm-2:45pm: Rehearsal
2:45pm-3pm: Clean up and wrap up
Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday (9am drop off, 3pm pick up)
9am-9:30am: Band meeting, go over plan for the day
9:30am-10am: Rehearsal
10:30am-11am: Workshop/Game/Making Band Poster
11am-12pm: Rehearsal
12pm: lunch
1pm-2:45pm: Rehearsal
2:45pm-3pm: Clean up and wrap up
Friday (9am drop off, 3PM PERFORMANCE)
9am-9:15am: Band meeting go over plan for the day
9:15am-10am: Workshop/Game
10am-11:30am: Rehearsal
11:30am-12:30pm: lunch
12:30-2:00pm: Dress Rehearsal & Fine Tuning
2:00-3:00pm: Games/ Stage is set up
3:00pm: Performance outside at SOR
What to expect
Students attending The Beatles workshop can expect to spend the majority of their time this week rehearsing songs from one of the most iconic bands of all time. However, they will also take some time to get to know their band mates, play games, and it all culminates in a performance!
At School of Rock, we are committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all students. To help us maintain this space, we ask parents to avoid packing any nut products in lunches or snacks. We also prohibit any toy or real weapons from being brought to the school.
Our summer workshop performances are held outdoors at School of Rock.
