School of Rock Oak Park Offers Day Camps for D97 Students
School of Rock Oak Park is hosting its first-ever Day Camp series during the academic school year.
The school will be hosting camps in two formats:
- Students from the ages of 5-7 can take part in our Rookies Day Camps. Our Rookies program is an excellent entry point into the world of Rock music instruments. Students will learn how to play songs on smaller, streamlined instruments to help them start playing as a band in no time.
- Students from the ages of 8-12 can participate in our Rock 101 Day Camps. This camp is a crash-course formatted on our Rock 101 program. Students in this camp have an opportunity to learn about the instruments we teach (guitar, bass, keyboard, drums and voice) by learning songs tailored to be beginner-friendly and fun to play.
Our Day Camp series is based around the Oak Park School District 97 calendar, serving the following schools: Beye Elementary, Hatch Elementary, Holmes Elementary, Irving Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, Longfellow Elementary, Mann Elementary and Whittier Elementary. Our Day Camps are all hosted on weekday school closures and make for a great option for parents in need of childcare for the day. All camps run from 9a-2:30pm, and will be commemorated with photos/videos of the students in action after the conclusion of the camp.
The schedule of Day Camps is detailed below:
- Monday, October 12 (Indigenous People’s Day)
- Tuesday, November 3 (Election Day
- Wednesday, November 25 (Thanksgiving Eve)
- Monday, January 18 (MLK Jr. Day)
- Monday, February 15 (President’s Day)
- Monday, March 1
- Tuesday, April 6
Our Day Camps are an excellent way for potential students to get a taste for what we offer at School of Rock, and for students to enjoy a memorable experience where they can make friends and have fun. As with all our programs, our Day Camps are a place where children can shine, connect, belong and be happy. We look forward to sharing our unique style of music instruction with the Oak Park community and a brand new way with our Day Camps!
