Did You See House Band at Lilac Fest?

Our House Band took the stage at Rochester's biggest spring tradition...Lilac Festival!

We couldn't have asked for a better day at Highland Park! Sunday, May 17th was the perfect day for a gig. The weather was sunny and warm, the iconic lilacs were in full bloom, and the park was packed with food trucks, local residents, and handmade goods from local artisans.

Rochester's biggest festival celebrates local music all throughout its weekends, and this year, our very own House Band of up-and-coming musicians officially joined the lineup on the Sprouts Stage!

Spring Feeling Power Set

Playing a massive festival stage like Lilac Fest can be intimidating, but our House Band stepped up and absolutely crushed it. They played a packed, upbeat power set that had people dropping what they were doing to come watch. We saw families dancing with their festival food in hand and people clapping along from the grass. They sounded incredible and looked right at home on stage!

Community & Love

We have to give a massive shoutout to the musicians who played right before us, @hazmat3o and @emilylivelle. House Band is all about learning what the real music community is like and figuring out the ropes of being a gigging musician, and these guys showed our kids exactly how it's done. They were so incredibly welcoming! They let us share some of their gear, helped our students set up on stage, showed them how to use different equipment, and even had one of our House Band drummers hop up to jam through the end of their set!

Beyond that, thank you to Lilac Festival for having us, and to all the students and rockstar parents who helped haul gear and cheered from the front row. Our community showed up in full force, and we couldn't be prouder!
