Don Ficzere is an experienced teacher and Music Director for the Little Wing, Rookies, and Rock 101 programs at School of Rock St. John's, Newfoundland. A natural and deeply passionate entertainer who loves listening, playing and teaching Classic Rock & Roll, Heavy Metal, Blues, Pop, Jazz or Country.
When not working on his own music, Don plays as session musician in studio and has a solid reputation as a hired gun for other artists and bands working the performance stage. Don loves sharing his passion for music and in particular guitars, so much so that he can be found building custom guitars in his spare time!
Don is a guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, and drum teacher who also plays harmonica, and sings lead vocals on his many active projects.

Ben's infatuation with music is a lifelong affair and he is always excited to share his passion for music with others. Ben has been playing and studying music for just under two decades in which time he has worked as a gigging musician, music teacher, promoter, producer, sound man and even an instrument repairman. He plays in bands with genres including Rock, Jazz, Punk, Blues, Folk, Metal, Ska, Funk (rock), and Choral music
Ben Chapman-Smith is primarily a guitar teacher, bass guitar teacher, and drum teacher with experience singing in his many active projects.

Janet is a significant force in the Newfoundland music scene, arriving in the early 2000’s with the album The Janet Cull Band, and earning MusicNL awards for Album of the Year and Group of the Year. Janet’s 2016 album Real Tough Love found her reaching new heights. On top of bringing her three more MusicNL awards, it brought her to stages all across Newfoundland, including a handpicked appearance opening for the legendary k.d. lang. Recently, Janet released “Hear it”, a very personal and dynamic album of “entirely original songs that came from a very deep place within myself”, she says.
Always on the go, Janet is an inspirational singing teacher, motivational coach, stagecraft diva and staunch supporter of her students. As Music Director, Janet leads the School of Rock St John’s, Newfoundland, top talent in School of Rock St John’s House Band.
Greg A. Tobin
Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher,
Greg has been a musician for over 25 years and a music teacher for over 15 years. Touring with bands across Canada and abroad, Greg has worked in countless countries. Greg performs with local bands, produces music for other artists and writes music for internet, television and radio. Greg draws from a wealth of technical knowledge garnered from direct experience and having been the main teacher at Academy Canada for the music recording arts program, which focussed on audio production technology, as well as song writing and performance camps.
Greg is constantly on the go and loves to share his passion for music with his students as much as he relishes his next gig! At School of Rock St John’s, Newfoundland, Greg is a guitar teacher and bass guitar teacher.
General Manager, Keyboard Teacher
Marco began his career in high school playing guitar in rock bands, continuing his education studying jazz piano at Berklee College of music, before embarking on a sixteen-year stint working as a musical director for various cruise lines; traveling the world, making music, having a ball! Marco met his wife Robyn Sears, a native of Mount Pearl, on a cruise ship. She brought him over to Newfoundland which he now proudly calls home. On top of GM duties at School of Rock St. John’s, Marco can be found teaching keyboard as well as regularly gigging around the City.
Singing since age 3, it was always evident that music is where Aubree's heart resides. After a heart-wrenching loss in 2018, Aubree turned to what she knew healed her soul best and is pursuing a career in music. Aubree influences are Country, Pop and R&B, and she is always eager to share her passion for music with students. On top of teaching vocals and group classes at School of Rock, St. John’s, Aubree hosts music events and performs around town regularly.

Raine’s passion for music is about as inclusive as it gets. Joni Mitchell, Faye Webster and Steely Dan are some of Raine’s favourites and although he studied Jazz in college, he can usually be found playing Rock’n’Roll on the local scene. At School of Rock, St. John’s, Raine is a guitar, bass and drum teacher, and loves to share his enthusiasm for everything from Metal to Rock, Blues & Jazz. Raine is fired up for every music session and expresses his excitement by fondly saying, “that was so sick!”.

Chris is an active singer-songwriter, recording and performing with various bands on the local music scene, as well as fronting his own songwriting & recording project, the Bicycle Factory. Chris digs being on stage and shares his enthusiasm with all students. At ease in a one-on-one or leading a large group, Chris loves teaching keyboard, guitar, bass and drums at School of Rock St. John’s.

Robyn is an active singer performing in shows and with various bands on the local music scene. Robin trained at Sheridan College and has performed all over the world, as well as on CBC TV nationally. Robyn brings a huge smile, tremendous energy and positivity to the School. Robyn is at her best when sharing her love of music, stagecraft and positive can-do attitude with children, parents and staff. Robyn teaches life skills, singing, guitar, keyboard, and dancing in group and one-on-one classes. Robyn especially enjoys working with children. Always willing to listen and ready to help, Robyn can often be found at our front desk where she coordinates and facilitates daily activities.
Robyn is a student at Memorial University studying Business with a focus on Marketing. Robyn helps organize our shows and show marketing materials, as well as coordinating and facilitating daily activities at the Front Desk of School of Rock, St John’s. Robyn is passionate about fashion and art, and particularly loves show days when students get to dress up as Rock Stars.
