CAMP DESCRIPTION

This is a great camp for instrumentalists and vocalists 8-18 years of age, some prior experience recommended. The songs will be selected from our multiple seasonal performance show themes from “Pop Legends”, “Punk Pop”, “Best of 80s”, “Best of 90s”, to “21st Century Rock” – accordingly to the skill levels of the bands. Each boot camp will be different from each other, giving campers opportunities to do multiple bootcamps throughout the summer. Performance Boot Camps at School of Rock will be tons of fun!

“Pop Legends” feature such as Aretha Franklin, Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson, Michael Jackson

“Punk Pop” feature high-energy songs from popular artists like Paramore, Green Day, Blink 182, and many more

“Best of 80s” play hits from the 80s by learning songs from artists like Billy Idol, Devo, Cyndi Lauper, Van Halen while “Best of 90s” celebrate bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Green Day, Weezer and many more

“21st Century Rock” celebrate artists like Foo Fighters, Amy Winehouse, Imagine Dragons, Paramore and more

WHAT TO EXPECT

A typical day at camp involves fun activities, small group rehearsal sessions, as well as full group rehearsals and individual lessons.  Instruments are provided, but guitar and bass players are welcome to bring their own if they prefer. It is recommended, but not required, that all students have their own instrument to practice with at home.

FRIDAY PERFORMANCE

On Friday, the last day of school, campers will put on a show for family and friends and perform the songs they’ve been working on all week. The show will take place at the school.
