Going back to school is fun with School of Rock! Our Fall Show Season for ages 7-18 will begin in October, with end-of-season performances taking place in mid-to-late January of 2027. Check out the full show desciptions and rehearsal schedule below.
mondays
Rock rookies (5:00 - 6:00 PM) | BEGINNER PROGRAM
Rookies is a music program for kids ages 7 and 8 with no musical experience. Students have a weekly one-hour group lesson to learn about various rock instruments (guitar, drums, bass, keyboards, and vocals), ear training, song structure, and rhythmic patterns within a group setting. Most kids are still discovering their instrument preference at this stage, and we provide the perfect environment to explore different options. This is our first day/time option for Rookies.
Drum Core (5:30 - 6:30 PM) | BEGINNER PROGRAM
Drum Core is a program designed for kids ages 8-11 with little-to-no drumming experience, consisting of a weekly 45-minute private lesson and an hour long class. The class teaches essential drum skills for playing confidently in a band, setting the stage for a smooth transition into Rock 101 and beyond! This is our first day/time option for Drum Core.
bRITISH INVASION (6:00 - 9:00 PM) | main performance program
The mid-1960s cultural phenomenon known as “The British Invasion” refers to the sudden and ubiquitous popularity of British rock and roll among the American youth of the time. The catalog of music created by these artists - including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, and The Kinks among others - propelled Rock & Roll music to the mainstream of cultural relevance where it remains to this day. The British Invasion bands took inspiration from Blues, Folk, and early Rock & Roll and combined these influences in an exciting way that can teach both our students and audiences the foundation of modern pop and rock music. British Invasion is a prime show choice for all instruments and experience levels to learn the foundations of Rock music, and especially perfect for emerging players who are looking to take the next step in widening their musical repertoire. Some notable song selections may include The Beatles’ “Twist And Shout”, The Kinks’ “You Really Got Me”, and The Yardbirds’ “For Your Love”. This will be the School of Rock Featured Show for the Fall 2026 season, presenting unique opportunities for our students!

Rock 101 (5:00 - 6:30 PM) | BEGINNER PROGRAM
Rock 101 is our performance program for beginners ages 7-11 years old, consisting of a weekly 45-minute private lesson and a group rehearsal. Students focus on an instrument of their choice (guitar, drums, keys, vocals, or bass) while learning how to work with a band - and have fun doing it! This is our first day/time option for Rock 101.
ROCK 'N' GROHL (5:00 - 7:00 PM) | main performance program
Rock 'n' Grohl (aka The Dave Grohl Show) is a killer show that covers quite a lot of musical ground on all instruments, featuring Grohl’s work with Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Queens Of The Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures, Probot, and more. This music is centered in the Hard Rock aesthetic but ranges from Grunge to Punk to Metal to Prog. Best known for his work in Foo Fighters and Nirvana, Dave Grohl is unanimously admired throughout the entertainment industry and continues to be a force to be reckoned with in the modern music scene. The Rock ‘n’ Grohl show is ideal for guitarists of every experience level, in that it encompasses a wide range of skills and techniques - from Nirvana’s rhythmic yet aggressive strumming to the Foo Fighters’ melodic and driving octaves to Queens of The Stone Age’s heavy but quirky leads and solos. Dave Grohl is especially well-known for his prowess behind the kit throughout his career, making this show a favorite for drummers. For vocalists, Foo Fighters songs provide great examples of the belting and chest voice techniques, and intermediate vocalists will be challenged by frequent dynamic changes and two-part harmonies.
Anti-Everything (7:00 - 9:00 PM) | MAIN PERFORMANCE PROGRAM
In the Anti-Everything show, we’re bringing together the most unapologetic voices in music. Every decade has faced its own unique social challenges, and music has always served as both an outlet for expression and a catalyst for change. The artists featured in this show have brought awareness to the masses through their music, and this show puts their voices front and center. We’re going to celebrate the spirit of defiance through artists such as Rage Against the Machine, Dead Kennedys, Beastie Boys, and Bob Dylan, as well as Dropkick Murphys, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Bob Marley, and Marvin Gaye. With genres ranging from metal to reggae, musicians can expect a healthy dose of variety and culture. Anti-Everything is musically varied, offers material for every instrument and playing level, all unified by an appetite for change! Get ready to see the enduring power of music that challenges the system, sparks conversation, inspires action, and reminds us that every single voice matters.

Aerosmith & Guns 'n' Roses (5:00 - 8:00 PM) | main performance program
Join us for a combination of 2 of America’s most lauded rock bands of all time! These groups shaped the 70s & 80s through their belting anthems, theatrical performances, and memorable riffs. Aerosmith was formed in 1970 Boston with vocalist Steven Tyler, guitarist Joe Perry, bassist Tom Hamilton, drummer Joey Kramer, and rhythm guitarist Ray Tabano. They reached real notoriety with iconic song, “Dream On” from 1973. Aerosmith brings a groovy flare & punchy rock sound to every show. Guns N’ Roses was created in LA in 1985 with singer Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler. Their raw, and gritty music took center stage with their first hit “Sweet Child O’Mine”. Guns N’ Roses houses challenging arrangements, wild motifs, and aggressive vocals that’ll make you want to shout! This show is a great opportunity for intermediate to experienced instrumentalists to work through some difficult music. This is East VS West Coast Rock, so get ready to kick it!

Opening Act is School of Rock’s performance program for beginners ages 12-17, consisting of a weekly 45-minute private lesson and group rehearsal. In Opening Act, students learn simplified versions of classic and modern rock songs to progress their skills in an instrument of their choice including guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, or vocals.

ONE-HIT WONDERS (12:00 - 2:00 PM) | main performance program
One-Hit Wonders is a super fun show that students and parents will love! What constitutes a One-Hit Wonder? The Billboard Book of One-Hit Wonders defines the term as a musical act that registers on the Billboard Pop Top 40 chart once in their career. While there have been One Hit Wonders since the beginning of the Rock and Roll era, this show contains a heavy dose of ‘80s hits like “Come On Eileen” by Dexy’s Midnight Runners, “I Ran (So Far Away)” by Flock of Seagulls, and “Take On Me” by a-ha. There are also some ‘70s gems, such as “Mr. Big Stuff” by Jean Knight, and '90s favorites such as Semisonic’s “Closing Time” and Chumbawamba’s “Tubthumping”. While these artists might not be household names, the One Hit Wonders show presents a musical journey through some of Rock’s most infectiously memorable tunes. This show is great for all instruments and skill levels, and will put a smile on every Rock fan’s face!
RAMONES & THE CLASH (2:00 - 4:00 PM) | main performance program
Are you ready to turn up the volume? The Ramones and The Clash are punk pioneers, engineering a baseline for a super energetic, and unique genre. The Clash’s one-of-a-kind sound, rebellious lyrics, and dynamic live shows influenced generations of rockers. This show will highlight the band’s mix of Rock, Reggae, Rockabilly, Soul, and Funk which set them apart from their Punk Rock peers in the 1970s and '80s. Hailing from Forest Hills, Queens, the Ramones invented a style of music that distilled Rock and Roll into its potent essence: short songs with fast tempos delivered in a rapid-fire blast that left the audience catching their breath. The Ramones’ influence cannot be overstated. Alongside Black Sabbath (who defined heavy metal), Ramones and The Clash are some of the rare bands that defined a new genre. This is a fun and educational show for young or inexperienced students to cut their teeth in while giving more advanced students the opportunity to develop their stage presence while delving into some incredibly innovative songs that brought Punk Rock to the forefront of the music industry.
