ROCK 101 PROGRAM (BEGINNER STUDENTS 8+)

SUNDAYS : 2:00PM - 3:30pm
WEDNESDAYS : 6:00PM - 7:30pm

Rock 101 is one of School of Rock’s major programs for kids and beginners ages 8-12 years. Students have one weekly group rehearsal where they learn classic rock songs. Students also have a weekly private music lesson with an instructor who will help them rehearse performance songs while teaching them foundational music skills and concepts.

BLUES LEGENDS:

THURSDAYS - 7:00PM - 9:00pm

From unforgettable training montages to epic superhero moments, movie soundtracks have helped define some of the most iconic scenes in film history. The Movie Soundtracks show celebrates the powerful connection between music and cinema, highlighting songs that have become inseparable from the films that featured them. This show spans a wide range of styles, drawing from classic rock, pop, and punk. Songs like “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor (Rocky III), “Footloose” by Kenny Loggins (Footloose), and “Born to Be Wild” by Steppenwolf (Easy Rider) are forever tied to the films they helped define, while modern pairings like “Immigrant Song” by Led Zeppelin (Thor: Ragnarok) and “Back in Black” by AC/DC (Iron Man) show how rock continues to elevate cinematic moments across generations. As an educational experience, this show gives students the chance to perform across multiple genres while developing strong stage presence and musical versatility. Guitarists will explore everything from riff-driven rock to expressive leads, while the rhythm section will focus on groove, dynamics, and tight ensemble playing. Vocalists will be challenged to deliver powerful, character-driven performances that match the energy of the films. To bring the full experience to life, performers are encouraged to dress as their favorite movie characters, adding a fun, theatrical element to an already high-energy, crowd-pleasing show.
