What is the School of Rock AllStars Program?
The School of Rock AllStars program is a rigorous, audition-based music program that takes the top performers from around the world and sends them on a nationwide summer tour across the United States.
Reaching AllStar status is the highest level of achievement for a School of Rock student. Because of the program's elite nature, it is highly competitive. Each year, less than 1% of School of Rock students globally are selected to become AllStars. Those who make the cut after a multi-stage audition process join an authentic touring experience that mirrors the life of professional working musicians.

School of Rock believes that musicians learn best by playing together and performing for real audiences. The AllStars program is the ultimate expression of this philosophy.
By taking students out of the practice room and onto a tour bus, School of Rock teaches invaluable industry skills that competitors simply cannot offer. The AllStars experience is designed to be an authentic reflection of the touring music industry. Teams are assigned randomly, meaning students are placed in bands based on musical fit rather than their geographic location.
Stage Presence and Endurance
Students learn how to captivate diverse audiences night after night in different cities. Students work together to create outfit themes, stage decor, and stage choreography during three intense days of rehearsal before heading out on the road.
Band Dynamics
Top-tier School of Rock musicians from across the globe meet for the first time on day one and learn how to collaborate during rehearsals, on stage, during downtime and fun excursions, and under pressure.
Road Realities
AllStars learn the logistics of travel, load-ins, soundchecks, and the physical demands of life as a touring artist. From unpacking and assembling gear to loading and unloading the tour bus each night, the entire team pitches in to make the hard work a collaborative effort. An independent study commissioned by School of Rock revealed that 95.9% of parents acknowledged improvement in their child’s teamwork skills since joining our programs.*
Flexibility and adaptation
One of the toughest aspects of the AllStars tour is that students embark on the tour after only three days of rehearsal as a band for the first time. Since AllStars features students not only from across the US but also from around the world, the beginning of the tour is also the first time many students have met each other and played together.
The newly formed bands spend a couple of days in intensive rehearsals, getting to know one another, locking in their setlists, and ensuring they are ready to perform as a cohesive unit. From there, they board the tour buses and embark on their nationwide tour.
This immersive approach ensures that students are not just learning an instrument; they are learning how to be professional musicians. At School of Rock, our students gain far more than music skills. They build confidence, become part of a supportive community, and learn to collaborate as a team.
Inside the 2026 AllStars tour
For the 2026 AllStars tour, 153 School of Rock students from Australia, Canada, Mexico, the United States, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Portugal, and South Africa came together as six teams for a ten-day tour across the USA.
Not only did each team play at some of the most iconic venues across the nation, but two teams participated in special recording days at the legendary One on One Recording in Hollywood, CA, and the Georgina Joshi Studio at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
The Gold Rush Tour
The Gold Rush tour kicked off in Las Vegas, playing the B-Side stage at the House of Blues for their first show. They then traveled down the coastline of California, playing at Zebulon in Los Angeles, Constellation Room in Santa Ana, and the Voodoo Room at the House of Blues San Diego. Their last show was at Valley Bar in Phoenix, AZ.
While in California, the Gold Rush AllStars team recorded four songs at the iconic One on One Recording. This historic recording studio stop was a highlight for the team as they recorded in the same studio as legendary musicians like Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Tom Petty, Michael Jackson, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, KISS, Bon Jovi, Alice in Chains, and many more.
The Lone Star Tour
Everything is bigger in Texas, and this route was no exception. The Lone Star tour took the AllStars deep into the heart of Texas to perform for some of the country’s most dedicated music fans. Beginning in Dallas at Trees, the tour stopped at Sam's Burger Joint in San Antonio before playing a two-night event at the Bronze Peacock stage at the House of Blues Houston. The Lone Star AllStars then headed to 3Ten at ACL Live in Austin and ended their tour at Tulips in Fort Worth.
The Heartland Tour
Bringing high-energy performances to the Midwest, the Heartland tour began in Missouri at the Old Rock House in St. Louis. The Heartland tour stayed in Missouri for their second show, heading to recordBar in Kansas City before traveling to xBk Live in Des Moines, IA, the iconic Granada Theater in Minneapolis, MN, Milwaukee, Wisconsin's Vivarium, and finished their tour at FitzGerald's Nightclub in Berwyn, IL.
The Music City Tour
This route is a dream for any aspiring musician. The Music City tour began in Chicago at Bottom Lounge and travels through some of the greatest historic music cities in the US. Their next show was at Black Circle Brewing in Indianapolis, IN, before heading to Whirling Tiger in Louisville, KY. Next up was the Mil at Cannery Hall in iconic Nashville, TN, before concluding in Atlanta, GA at the Masquerade.
While in Indianapolis, the Music City AllStars tour recorded four songs at the Georgina Joshi Studio at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Offering the Jacobs School of Music students a hands-on experience, this state-of-the-art studio was an amazing experience for the School of Rock AllStars to not only experience the professional recording process, but work with some of the best audio professionals in recording.
The Steel Belt Tour
Starting in Baltimore, Maryland, at the Metro Gallery, the Steel Belt tour routed its way through the historic and hardworking music scenes of Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. After leaving Baltimore, the AllStars rocked Jammin Java in Vienna, VA, heading to the Crafthouse in Pittsburgh, PA, before spending two nights in Ohio at the Grog Shop in Cleveland and Ace of Cups in Columbus. The Steel Belt tour concluded in the Cincinnati Metro area of Newport, KY, playing the Southgate House Revival.
The Wicked East Tour
East Coast audiences agreed that this tour was wicked awesome. Beginning their tour at the Debonair Music Hall in Teaneck, NJ, this tour then played the iconic Sony Hall in New York City before heading to Sonia in Cambridge, MA. Their fourth show was at Space Ballroom in Hamden, CT, before playing Amityville Music Hall in Amityville, NY, and ending at Underground Arts in Philadelphia, PA.
A Launchpad for Music Industry Careers
Representing the highest level of performance-based education, the AllStars touring program frequently acts as a launchpad for long-term success. The rigorous touring schedule and high-pressure performances prepare young musicians for the realities of the entertainment business in a way no traditional music lesson can.
Former AllStars have gone on to build highly accomplished careers in the music industry. Alumni have become professional touring artists, written hit albums, starred in hit Broadway musicals, secured major record deals, and performed as finalists on massive talent competitions like American Idol and The Voice, and even become School of Rock franchise owners themselves.
