Lacey even spent several years singing and leading praise and worship at her church and has helped her own children with singing. Music Director Collin
Music Director
Collin has been an instructor for School of Rock for nearly a decade, teaching guitar, bass, and keys. Born in Seattle, music was always around from classical to jazz, to rock and pop. Starting on the saxophone, Collin picked up the guitar in high school and that led to an even deeper appreciation for all things music. Once he was 17 years old, he started performing all around the DFW metroplex and beyond, playing blues, country, classic rock, and original music. Teaching has always been an important part of being a musician to Collin and he is inspired to improve his own playing when he shares what made music so special to him with the next generation. Collin continues to perform as a solo artist, with his tribute bands, Perfect Strangers (Deep Purple) and The Stronks (The Strokes), as well as his original band, Black Sea Heroes.

Drum Teacher Josh
Drum Teacher
Josh has been drumming since he started middle school band in 6th grade, Josh was originally from Fargo, North Dakota and grew up in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Growing up in a smaller area gave him the opportunities to learn and participate in many different musical styles and ensembles including being a four-year member of both the South Dakota All-State Band and Jazz Band. Just like many other musicians, playing in the church has given him experiences that have been instrumental in the development of his musicality.

Studying at the University of North Texas, he played in some of the premier ensembles like the Latin Lab Band, Zebras Funk Ensemble, Four O'Clock Lab Band on drumset, and the One O'Clock Lab Band on timbales with special guest Regina Carter.

Josh has been influenced by and studied with some of the greatest percussion and jazz teachers around Texas. He is currently a member of The Simeon Davis Group, The JACS, and gigs around the DFW area.
Bass Guitar Teacher Katie
Bass Guitar Teacher
Katie was born in Plano, Texas, and has lived in Flower Mound for most of her life. She watched as the town developed and became the beautiful, safe and fun town we know today—which also means she saw the School of Rock Flower Mound location being built! Katie may have had no prior knowledge of the concept of "School of Rock" but with her being a bored 15-year-old wanting a creative outlet (and conveniently owning a bass guitar that her dad impulse-purchased one Christmas), she signed herself up for the program right as they were opening their doors back in 2013.

Katie was swept away by how fun and interactive the program was, and she continued to improve her skills there as a bassist. The program was so helpful to her as not only a musician but as a person; she learned how to be more confident and interact with others and even got the courage to begin singing and drumming. Towards the end of Katie's time as a student, she auditioned for their first House Band and took one of the two bass positions. After she was too old to continue the normal performance program, she continued to play music there with the Adult Band for a year before she was offered a position as an instructor. Even now, Katie knows there's still loads to learn in music and as an instructor. She is always trying to find ways to improve and adapt so she can help others have an amazing experience like the one she has had.

Outside of School of Rock, Katie was an alto saxophone player in her school days, would occasionally fiddle around on her piano, and teach herself to sing when no one was home to hear. Katie has been writing music of her own since she was a teenager but never actually saw herself pursuing music until picking up the bass at School of Rock. Nowadays she records albums at home, playing all the instruments herself, and is constantly writing new songs because she believes creating songs is like therapy to her. Katie often says some variation of: "Music is healing, that's why I love teaching at School of Rock. I get to help others heal and grow as musicians and as people."
Guitar Teacher Adam

Adam started taking guitar lessons from a local music studio in Rochester, NY at the age of 9 years old. Adam continued playing for various groups around the Rochester area and eventually enrolled at the University of North Texas Jazz studies program.

After recently graduating, Adam and a childhood friend began a recording business where they produce songs/albums for artists all over the DFW area. Now being fluent in keys and bass, he spends most of his time writing/producing music, as well as gigging and teaching.

Guitar Teacher Scotty
Guitar Teacher
A Kansas native, Scotty has had an active interest in music for as long as he can remember. He has been playing guitar since the age of 13 and has been teaching for 15 years. Early on, he practiced by writing songs and learned to improvise by ear. In high school, he formed an all original progressive rock band that played for several years around the Wichita, Ks. area. He attended Friends University in Wichita, Ks. on a Jazz guitar scholarship and played in several of the Jazz groups there while studying for a degree in music business that he obtained in 2009. After graduating, he moved to Denton and has been consistently performing around the area with various groups ever since. During college, Scotty started teaching at a local music store and quickly developed a passion for it which continues to this day. He started teaching at School Of Rock Flower Mound in 2017 and is thrilled to be a continued part of the growing and passionate SOR community. Scotty utilizes the curriculum and resources the school provides in addition to his own knowledge and experience to help students obtain their goals and reach their highest potential.
Guitar Teacher Kyle
Guitar Teacher
Kyle has been involved with music from a very early age, from singing in his church choir as a child to playing euphonium and tuba in his middle school band. He always had a fascination with learning guitar and tried a few times growing up. Kyle had trouble sticking with it until his junior year of high school when he finally dedicated himself to learning his favorite instrument.

After teaching himself for a short time, Kyle joined School of Rock Flower Mound as a student in the performance programs. Over the course of about two years as a student at School of Rock Flower Mound, he went from a complete beginner to joining the school's House Band and was finally able to play the instrument he always wanted to play. After he graduated, Kyle went on to study film in college at the University of North Texas. He still continued to learn and grow as a guitar player by studying and teaching himself and even took some music classes as electives at UNT. Kyle also likes to write and record his own music in his free time.

Now, almost 6 years after leaving School of Rock as a student, he has returned and is now teaching the next generation how to rock!
Drum Teacher Zack
Drum Teacher
Zack likes dogs, burritos, old video games, and making funny voices to himself, but more than anything else, he has a true love for making and sharing music. Growing up in Killeen, TX to middle school and high school choir directors, Zack took an interest in music at a young age through piano lessons and daily consumption of classic rock, particularly The Beatles. Drums became a passion and love when he heard the sound of Rush coming through his Sony Discman player at the age of 13.

Since then, Zack has had an obsession with rudiments, odd patterns, and grooves that never seem to leave his mind. After moving to Denton in 2010, Zack has played and recorded alongside and with many amazing musicians and bands in the DFW area, a few of them Grammy winners. He has toured in many cities including Austin, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York, and has been nominated for multiple awards through The Dentonite and Dallas Observer. Zack specializes in all genres of drumming and can teach all levels of drumming to any age, young or old.

Eventually, Liam would discover pop punk and hip hop and would spend days listening to everything from Blink-182 to Snoop Dogg. He was always trying to learn the songs through and through as he listened, and after that, he decided he wanted to do music forever. In 2021 Liam joined the School of Rock Adult Program and fell in love with the school. A few seasons later he became an instructor himself. Liam strives to teach others how to enjoy music and be comfortable with themselves.

It's our home away from home!

The music coaches are amazing, extremely knowledgeable and genuinely care about all of their students. My boys have learned so much. They feel accepted and like they can play with the best of them.

We trust them completely!

In just a short period of time we've seen incredible growth in our daughter's abilities and her confidence. The staff are incredible and there's no doubt in their skill or their devotion to the kids.

Life skills on and off stage.

My son has found his place at School of Rock. He has moved beyond a kid who didn't want to perform in public to a confident preteen who looks forward to being on stage and can play through a song even if there's a misstep.

School of Rock stands out.

I am absolutely amazed at what my daughters are doing at School of Rock. Listening to my girls practice is awesome, and the fact that they want to practice daily is what really shows the difference between this program and others.

The teacher did a great job working remotely with the students.

My son took the online songwriting class. He LOVED it. I was concerned that he wouldn't like being online from 9am-3pm. But the teacher did a great job working remotely with them. It's challenging to meet the needs of a diverse group of teens but he kept everyone coming back.
