Michael Haddox
General Manager, Music Director
Michael has been playing guitar for over two decades. He earned a bachelor's degree in music from Florida Atlantic University with a focus on jazz performance. During this time, Michael studied under two guitar instructors—Mac Okubo and Russ Spiegel—and received a scholarship for performing with the FAU Jazz Band and Combos. He is currently studying with jazz guitarist Jonathan Kreisberg.
Michael showcases a diverse array of musical styles, deeply rooted in rock, blues, jazz, and funk. He was a member of the local blues band Bobby and the Renegades, which garnered considerable acclaim for its vibrant blues and funk performances. His talent was recognized when he was chosen to participate in the prestigious 2013 Blues Guitar Shootout organized by the South Florida Blues Society. Michael is also a composer for the rock band Beauty to the Moon. The band released a self-titled EP in 2009 and a full LP, "When They Notice," in 2015.
Michael is also part of a modern jazz quartet named Tchaa whose original compositions can be found on YouTube and Bandcamp. Michael has a strong focus on music education. He has years of experience as the music director and general manager of School of Rock Coral Springs. He is devoted to giving back to the community the experiences and knowledge he has gained.
Harry Brooklyn
Drum Teacher, Assistant Show Director
Yes, that’s his real name. Born in Long Island, New York, Harry Brooklyn started to play drums at age 10 and enrolled in traditional private lessons. He has been drumming for over 40 years and his journey has taken him from school band on the road and in the studio through the late '80s until today with many bands (Vital Signs, Beggar's Opera, Joe Hand, Picture This, Run Like Hell a Pink Floyd tribute, Bobby and the Renegades, Living Daylights, The Necessities, Bruja and currently Urge).
Harry has worked as a teacher through the years at local music stores F-Sharp Music, Drum Design, and Resurrection Drums, and decided to open his own music store and lesson studio (A Major Music 1995-2014) sharing his experience and knowledge of drums. Since then, Harry has been a part of the School of Rock team of educators helping the next generation to rock!
Andrés Alessandro Beuses Casasanta
Show Director, Drum Teacher
Andrés Beuses started playing drums at the age of 13 while taking lessons at the Yamaha Music Academy in Venezuela. In the following years, he also learned to play keyboard, bass guitar, and the Venezuelan cuatro. During high school, he took formal piano lessons and was a part of the school choir.
Andrés received a Bachelor of Music majoring in Commercial Music from Florida Atlantic University. During this time, he performed in a variety of settings and ensembles including the Commercial Music Ensemble, Jazz Combos, Latin Ensembles, and the Symphony Orchestra. He was also often invited to do live and studio session work including performing the opening theme song to the short film Roshambo Apocalypse.
Currently, in addition to his work in theatre and live sound engineering, Andrés continues to perform with different groups and artists including his band, State of Flux. Andrés has been with School of Rock Coral Springs since the summer of 2013.
Victoria Riva
Vocal Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher
Victoria Riva earned a bachelor's degree in music with a concentration in jazz voice from Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA. Prior to attending college, she was in a Rock/Metal band from the age of 17 until she was 21. Her band had the opportunity to play at venues like the Stone Pony, Starland Ballroom, and The Saint, in New Jersey. Currently, Victoria teaches voice and piano.
Steve Laudicina
Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Assistant Show Director
Steve took private lessons at age 7 with Nick Russo, a Jazz guitarist based out of New York. After moving to Coral Springs Fl at age 13, he began playing in various bands throughout high school and into adulthood. Over the years, he gained experience and knowledge through live performances, traveling, and recording sessions with various musicians.
Steve has made his living as a guitarist for hire which has helped him develop solid foundations in blues, rock, funk, and soul/R&B. He has been fortunate to tour All across North America, Canada, Europe, and South America. He also recorded all of the guitar tracks for the book “Soul Fingers” dedicated to the legendary bassist Donald “Duck” Dunn, which Hal Leonard released worldwide.
Since beginning at the School of Rock in Coral Springs, he has found his love of teaching, where he shares all of his knowledge through years of experience as a performing musician.
Izze Lino
Drum Teacher
Izze Lino started taking private drum lessons at 11 years old. She has been a School of Rock Coral Springs student since 2016, taking drum lessons with Harry Brooklyn. Izze also participated in the School of Rock House Band program for three years.
She is currently an engineering major at Florida Atlantic University. Izze enjoys listening to music from bands like Green Day and Foo Fighters and making drum covers on YouTube. She is the drummer and vocalist of the band Better Connection.
Natalia Elizer
Keyboard + Piano Teacher
Natalia Elizer is a passionate keyboard + piano teacher at School of Rock Coral Springs with four years of teaching experience helping her students build strong musical foundations and a love for all music. Beginning her musical journey in middle school, she learned from YouTube until taking formal lessons in her junior year of high school. Continuing her love for classical music, she spent her first year of University studying classical repertoire under the supervision of Dr. Irena Kofman.
Currently, she is in her senior year at Florida Atlantic University pursuing her bachelor's degree in Commercial Music Business, where she now studies under renowned pianist Phil Hinton. While in school, she has participated in multiple ensembles including Candela: Salsa Orchestra, MÁS (Music of the Americas), and Jazz Combo!
Aaron Cowans
Bass Teacher, Grad School Show Director, House Band Director
Aaron Cowans is a bassist and performer who graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a focus in Commercial Music Technology. During his studies, he participated in weekly bass guitar lessons, performed in the bass studio, and spent three years playing in the Commercial Music Ensemble.
Aaron has performed with local original and cover bands, including In Phases and Sonic Roof Trio, and has been featured in a music video for the local band A Band Called Beast. He brings a strong foundation in performance, collaboration, and modern music technology to his work with students at School of Rock Coral Springs.
Jo Jean
Vocal Teacher, Assistant Show Director, Rookies Teacher
Joanne Jean is a South Florida–based vocalist and guitarist with extensive live performance experience across multiple genres. She is an active solo artist who writes, records, and performs original music, and has served as a lead singer in band and ensemble settings. Joanne has a strong background in vocal technique, stage presence, and collaboration, and is passionate about helping students at School of Rock Coral Springs grow as confident, well-rounded musicians.
Haley Szekely
Studio Manager
Haley Szekely is a guitarist and vocalist with over 20 years of experience. She earned a BA in Music Business from Berklee College of Music and has spent over a decade working with independent and major labels. She also runs her own consulting firm and brings that experience to her role as Studio Manager at School of Rock Coral Springs.
Sal Italiano
Grad School Show Director, Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
A professional touring and recording bass guitarist, Sal Italiano has performed and recorded with a range of nationally and internationally recognized artists. He co-founded the heavy metal band Cities with AJ Pero, recorded on Metal Blade Records, and toured extensively with Canadian metal legends Anvil. He also spent over a decade performing as Steve Harris in New York’s Iron Maiden tribute band Experience: Live After Death, along with appearances in major Van Halen tribute acts. Sal has been teaching and directing with School of Rock Coral Springs since January of 2023.
Juliano Santana
Assistant Show Director, Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
Juliano Santana began his musical journey at School of Rock Coral Springs at just 15 years old. After honing his skills as a student, he successfully auditioned for and was accepted into the touring House Band. Since then, he has continued to study jazz performance, developing a deep understanding of both technique and musicality. Juliano has been teaching with School of Rock Coral Springs since 2021 and is passionate about helping students grow as confident, well-rounded musicians.
