WHAT TO EXPECT

  • 1 weekly private lesson
  • 1 weekly group lesson

Recording music might seem intimidating, but it is an essential skill for any musician and doesn’t require a ton of experience or expensive technology to get started. School of Rock’s Recording & Production Program teaches the fundamentals of recording and mixing via our patented SongFirst™ methodology. Students attend one weekly private lesson on an instrument of their choice where they learn concepts, technique, and theory. These principles are then applied in weekly group lessons where students work together to record and mix their own productions of famous songs from rock history. Alternatively, students record and mix their original compositions created through School of Rock's Songwriting Program.

THE PATH TO TAKE THE STAGE

Our Recording & Production Program for kids and teens, complemented with our Songwriting Program, is designed to empower students to develop the skills to produce their own recordings at home, by teaching the fundamentals of recording and mixing in a studio-like environment. Recording & Production students have often gone through our Rock 101 program first, or have some previous basic music experience. The program culminates with a listening party, where students showcase their recordings for family and friends.
