The added enrichment of performance
If your student has been taking private lessons for a long time and still doesn't have a clear idea of what they are working towards, it can feel like you're stuck. Maybe recitals are hit and miss, feel stuffy, or just aren't giving your student the kind of experience they would prefer to have in their music education.
Here at the School of Rock in Eden Prairie, we understand the value of performance along side our private music lessons. For us, this takes shape as a show for our students every two months.
Working towards a show every two months helps provide structure and meaning to lessons. Students who particiapte in the performance program learn more in a shorter amount of time than traditional lessons only!
Our seasons are four months long, and we divide the shows into two catagories: Midseason and End of Season. Not only that, but we perform at real venues around the Twin Cities. Some of the venues we have performed at recently include:
- The Pourhouse
- Hook and Ladder
- Uptown VFW
- The Garage
- Keg and Case
- The Ukranian Center
Additionally, the positive impact of students performing with their peers is evident in the life-long friendships formed at The School of Rock. The culture at our school is a warm, accepting one and our students support one another during their season together and cheer each other on at the shows.
