In this special 5-day camp, students will analyze some of the greatest
compositions of the last 60 years and learn how to write their own
songs and learn the basics of recording.

Want to learn what it takes to write and record your own music? Through
this special 5-day songwriting and recording camp, students will learn
how to write their own songs. Students will analyze some of the greatest
compositions of the last 60 years to develop their own tunes. They will
learn about chord progressions, arrangements, and other tricks of the
trade. We'll spend Monday through Friday learning and writing
songs, all culminating in a live recording. During this 5-day camp,
students will also learn the fundamentals of recording and production
that can be applied to any type of home studio setup. Utilizing powerful
and accessible recording technology and gear, students will record,
mix, and master songs as a final product to take home. This is a music
camp for instrumentalists and vocalists 12-18 years of age who have some
proficiency with their instrument and are looking to expand into the
world of music production and recording. If you are unsure of your
students ability for this camp, please contact the school prior to
enrollment so we can get your student in for an evaluation. ALL Non-SOR
students will need to come into the studio prior to enrollment so please
contact the school. Any discounts offered at the time of evaluation
request will be honored upon enrollment.
WEEKLY SCHEDULE
- Camp runs Monday - Friday, 9am - 2pm each day
- Each day will consist of rehearsals, practice time, and fun music-based games and activities
- On Friday at 1:00 pm at the school, campers will play recordings and some might perform the songs they have been working on throughout the week! Students will be emailed their recordings that were worked on during the camp
WHAT TO EXPECT
Students can expect an exciting and educational week of learning music taught by our talented camp instructors. Students will be asked to bring lunch, snacks, water, and hearing protection each day. If students have their own laptop or phone, they should bring that along with any associated chargers. They will be accessing the internet under supervision for the process of recording and writing. If they have their own electric guitar or bass they should bring that as well.
