You're Invited: Expansion Celebration and Open Mic!


We are so excited to extend a special invitation to all current and prospective Highland Heights students, families, and friends to be a part of our celebration on Saturday, December 16th, from 4-6 PM, marking the expansion of our school.

This expansion not only reflects our commitment to fostering artistic talent but also signifies the growth of our community. It's a testament to the support and enthusiasm of our students, parents, and friends who have contributed to the vibrant tapestry of our school.

Beyond the musical festivities, the celebration provides an excellent opportunity for everyone to explore our new space. The added room allows for more specialized classrooms, a huge rehearsal room and additional communal areas, creating an even more enriching environment for our students.

The festivities kick off at 4 PM with an Open Mic, open to all current SoR Highland Heights students, followed by performances by our audition-based, School of Rock Cleveland House Band and Jr House Band.


Open Mic sign-ups will commence on Wednesday, November 29th, with the form emailed out promptly at 6 PM. Given the limited availability, only the first 10 sign-ups will secure a spot. Whether you're going solo, playing with a full-band, performing a cover or your own original piece, we welcome all forms of expression (as long as it's appropriate)! We can't wait!

Open Mic Rules:

1. Sign-Up Limit: Only the first 10 students to sign up will be eligible to perform. Sign-ups are on a first-come, first-served basis.

2. Eligibility: This open mic event is open to currently enrolled students of School of Rock Highland Heights. If you will be performing with non-school of rock students, that is okay. Make sure to list them on the sign up form.

3. Performance Time: Each performer will be allocated a maximum of 5 minutes to showcase their talent.

4. Prepare in Advance: Performers are expected to be fully prepared and ready to perform when their turn arrives. Set up and soundcheck will be completed before the event starts.

5. Respect for All: Show respect and support for all performers, regardless of their act. Disruptive behavior or negative comments will not be tolerated.

6. Content Guidelines: All performances/songs must be appropriate, whether covers or originals. Offensive or inappropriate material is strictly prohibited.

7. Equipment: Performers are responsible for bringing their own instruments (except drums, keys, and amps). Sound set up will be what we have for rehearsals.

8. Standby List: If you do not secure a spot among the first 10 performers, you may choose to be on the standby list in case any performer cancels.

9. Cancellation: If you cannot perform after signing up, please let us know as soon as possible to allow another student to take your spot.

10. Confirmation: Once we confirm the list of performers, we will send you and your guardians a confirmation with more details of what to expect. Participants are expected to stay for the full Open House.
