Rock 101 is for kids 7-14 who are beginners or have no musical experience. Students try all instruments we teach, then prepare and perform a mini-concert.

CAMP DESCRIPTION

Our Rock 101 Camp is designed for beginners 7-14, even those who have not touched an instrument before. During the first day or two of camp, we introduce each camper to all the instruments that we teach (guitar, bass, drums, keys, and voice) and allow them to get some hands on experience with each. Then we put together small groups to learn and rehearse songs together that will be performed at a concert at the school's venue on Friday. We choose easier songs from such classic artists as the Beatles and Creedence Clearwater Revival as well as songs from more modern groups such as Green Day and Imagine Dragons. Along the way we enliven each day with fun and games.

WEEKLY SCHEDULE

Camp runs Monday through Friday 10am to 3pm, with a concert on Friday at 2:30pm to which campers can invite friends and family. 

Early drop off at 8am or 9am and/or late pick up at 4pm or 5pm can be arranged for an additional fee. Please contact us to arrange.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Students can expect an exciting and educational week of learning music taught by our talented camp instructors. Each day, students will be asked to bring lunch, snacks, water and hearing protection. While we welcome students with no experience, those who play guitar or bass are encoraged to bring in their instruments and picks; we will provide amps and instrument cables. Drummers should bring drum sticks. We provide drum sets. We provide keyboards and amps for those who play piano/keys and microphones for singers.

CANCELLATION POLICY

The full cost of the camp is due upon enrolling.

Cancellation requests must be made in writing via email to mason@schoolofrock.com

Refund Policy is as follows:

• If School of Rock Mason cancels a camp, a full refund will be made
• Cancellation requests received before April 1, 2025 will receive a refund of 100% of tuition collected less a $20 service fee
• Cancellation requests received between April 1, 2025 and prior to 21 days of the camp start date will receive a refund of 50% of the payment made
• Cancellation requests received 21 days or less before the camp start date will not be refunded.
