School of Rock Metairie is growing again. We’re excited to welcome three new instructors whose talent, experience, and passion for teaching will strengthen our program and give students even more opportunities to learn, grow, and perform.

Our House Band took the summer on the road — five cities, five stages: WorkPlay, Exit/In, The Caverns, The Signal, and Center Stage. Real venues, real crowds, and a group of students who left as players and came home as a band. Here's a look back at the tour.

Jon Batiste is gearing up for a massive creative run with three new albums on they. First up is Black Mozart, dropping June 19, where Batiste flips Mozart's music through the lens of Black American styles- jazz, blues, ragtime, stride and the kind of improvisation that pushes piano music forward. Two more albums arrive August 14, both inspired by Thelonious Monk and built around Batiste's deep connection to Monk's rhythmic and harmonic ideas. Each project takes a different angle, showing how Batiste blendds classical foundations with the raw energy and freedom of modern improvisation. Together, the releases mark a bold, genre-bending stretch from one of today's most inventive musicians- bringing tradition, innovations, and the spirit of exploration that drives great music.

Come out to see one of the most anticipated concerts of the year! 1000 musicians from across the area will join together to play some of the greatest rock anthems of all time. Not only will members of our House Band and Adult Band take part, but some of our amazing Rock 101 and Performance Program students will be playing!
