Angela
Owner, General Manager
Angela’s journey with School of Rock began as a parent, but her connection to music runs much deeper. Raised as a "roadie" for her father’s band, she developed an early love for rhythm and played the drums throughout her elementary and middle school years.
That musical legacy came full circle after her son received his first drum set at just two years old, Angela sought out a place where his natural talent could flourish. They discovered School of Rock Germantown, and witnessing his "rockin’ journey" firsthand inspired Angela to transition from a dedicated stage-mom to a community leader.
With over 20 years of experience as an elementary educator, Angela understands that a child’s development goes beyond the classroom. She is a firm believer that every student needs three things to thrive: a passion to pursue, a supportive community, and a place where they feel truly confident in themselves. Today, she is proud to provide that environment for the next generation of local musicians at School of Rock Valrico.
Shayne
Music Director, Bass Guitar Teacher, Guitar Teacher, Drum Teacher
Shayne began his musical journey like many young musicians—learning piano at home and building a strong foundation in music theory. A fast learner with natural talent, he quickly mastered the keyboard, but his passion shifted the moment he picked up an acoustic Yamaha guitar resting in the corner of his music room. With experience on the viola from school, transitioning to guitar felt natural, and before long, the instrument became his true musical home.
To help him grow, Shayne’s parents connected him with renowned jazz musician Maurice Allen, founder of the Tampa Bay Jazz Festival. Under Mr. Allen’s mentorship, Shayne was introduced to a rich world of jazz and blues that expanded his musical abilities and sparked deep creative inspiration. As his skills developed, Shayne gravitated toward the electric guitar and heavier genres. Influenced early on by bands like Metallica, he embraced rock and metal with confidence, supported by a strong background in scales, chords, and improvisation. An old 1980s Fernandez electric guitar became the tool that helped fuel his next chapter.
Shayne eventually joined School of Rock, where he continued refining his craft, performing, and broadening his musical horizons. Even during the challenges of COVID-19, he pushed forward—using the time to strengthen his guitar technique, begin writing original music, and experiment with drums and keyboard.
After high school, Shayne pursued his passion further by enrolling at F.I.R.S.T. Institute, where he became a certified audio engineer specializing in recording, mixing, and mastering. He is now proficient in Pro Tools and StudioOne. In addition to his musical development, Shayne is currently studying psychology with plans to earn his doctorate.
Shayne represents the dedication, growth, and creative spirit that the School of Rock Valrico strives to inspire in every student.

Originally from Rockville Centre, NY, Kevin’s musical journey began at age eight. After briefly exploring the cello, viola, and coronet, he discovered a lifelong passion for the drums at his teacher’s suggestion. This spark led to intensive study throughout junior high and high school, where he performed in orchestral, stage, and marching bands before attending Five Towns Music School to study under the renowned Charlie Perry.
Kevin’s talent for instruction emerged early; he began teaching at age 18 and has since mentored students ranging from ages 5 to 72. His commitment to education has followed him through various chapters of his life, including:
Military Service: Providing drum lessons to fellow Marines and officers' children at Cherry Point, NC.
Community Leadership: Teaching group lessons for the P.A.L. in Manatee County and private sessions in his Bradenton studio.

A dedicated lifelong learner, Kevin was accepted into the Berklee College of Music online program in 2015. Studying studio production and music therapy, he maintained a stellar 3.88 GPA and earned a spot on the Dean’s List for seven consecutive semesters.
With 50 years of experience and a legacy of teaching and service, Kevin is a master of diverse genres, including rock, jazz fusion, blues-rock, and funk. He specializes in the highly technical "math" of drumming, such as complex grooves, polyrhythms, and odd time signatures—styles popularized by artists like Frank Zappa and King Crimson.
Kevin continues to perform locally with groups such as Crazy Planet and The Tommy Balbo Project. Today, he shares his vast knowledge through his YouTube drum channel and as a premier percussion instructor at School of Rock Valrico.

Ariana
Vocal Teacher
Music and singing have always encompassed Ariana Quiles’ life, having been born to parents who sang in the church choir. At the age of 14, she joined her parents on the worship team and has been singing almost every Sunday since. Over the years, she has grown from a supportive frontline vocalist to a main worship leader. She now acts as her church’s vocal leader, training new vocalists by teaching the basics and helping them build confidence, and supporting existing members by teaching harmonies and fine-tuning vocal arrangements.
An avid lover of music and performance, she played the flute in her middle school band, where she learned to read music and blend with other musicians. She also indulged in musical theater during her high school years, which helped her expand her vocal skills and find her confidence on stage. Her credits include Land O’ Lakes High School’s productions of In The Heights (Ensemble) and Legally Blonde (Ensemble). During her free time, Ariana likes to write original songs via her keyboard and voice notes app in a variety of genres such as worship, musical theater, jazz, folk, and pop rock.

George
Guitar Teacher, Drum Teacher
For George Montaldo, music has always been a matter of heritage. Born into a family where musical artistry was part of the DNA, it was only a matter of time before he found his own voice. That moment arrived at age 12 when he first picked up the guitar; he became instantly obsessed, and the instrument hasn't left his side since. Throughout his teenage years, George was a fixture in local bands and school festivals, constantly seeking out lessons and pushing his technical boundaries.
This lifelong dedication led him to Hollywood at age 19 to attend the prestigious Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT) at Musicians Institute. His technical command and creative vision were recognized early on; while at GIT, he formed the high-octane original instrumental trio Subculture alongside bassist Chris Goldsmith (Coldspell) and drummer Pete Parada (The Offspring). His mastery was further acknowledged by his instructor, Paul Hanson (the legendary coach who taught Michael J. Fox to play for Back to the Future), who personally requested that George lead seminars on advanced economy picking for his peers.
By age 25, George had earned his B.A. in Music Audio Recording from California State University, Dominguez Hills, solidifying a career defined by technical excellence. With over 30 years of professional experience, George has moved seamlessly between the stage and the studio. His performance resume includes over 200 live shows and collaborations with world-class musicians, including performing with Ray Luzier (Korn, David Lee Roth) and Ivan de Prume (White Zombie). He is well-known for his extreme technical discipline, demonstrated through high-level tribute projects to RUSH and Randy Rhoads, his work with the renowned Chilean progressive metal band Subterra, and his time as a session guitarist for the iconic Chilean rock band Aleste.
Beyond the guitar, George has been an integral part of technical teams for global industry leaders like Apple, Sony, Warner Bros., and Sonic Solutions. His professional background as an EQA (Engineering Quality Assurance) and Quality Control specialist informs his every move, spilling over into his music productions and recordings to ensure a level of sonic perfection and technical rigor rarely found in the industry. Most recently, he served as a Mixing Supervisor, collaborating with teams of engineers to deliver thousands of projects for Netflix, Amazon, and Discovery. This unique blend of high-level performance and technical leadership makes George an invaluable mentor for students at School of Rock Valrico. Whether he is teaching in English or Spanish, George is dedicated to helping the next generation of musicians find their technical voice and the same confidence on stage that he discovered as a teenager.
