From the impact of Rhythm and Blues on the British Invasion, the Soul powerhouses of Motown and Stax records, and the Funk influenced Disco music of the 70s, these genres have left an indelible mark on popular music
Camp Description
The Blues had a baby and they named it Rock and Roll. The British Invasion bands like the Rolling Stones (who are named after a Muddy Waters song) took the Blues and turned them up to 11. Campers will learn the importance of the Blues and explore the music of Howlin Wolf, Bo Diddley, Big Mama Thornton and many others. At the end of the week, students will put on a live performance. Great for students 7-18 years of age who have had some previous instruction.
