Where are you located?

Located at 2414 Central Ave. in downtown Alameda at the very back of the parking lot next to Labcorp. Our sign is up now, so you can't miss us!

If you don't know those businesses, we are in the parking lot across from Kaiser - behind the 1-800-Flower shop.

 

 

Camps: Does my child need prior music experience to join a camp?

Not at all! School of Rock Alameda offers music camps for all skill levels. Whether your child is a complete beginner picking up an instrument for the very first time, or an experienced player looking to level up their skills, our instructors tailor the experience to ensure everyone learns, has fun, and feels like a rock star.

Camps: What instruments can my child learn during a music camp?

Campers at School of Rock Alameda can choose to learn and play guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, or vocals. Our expert instructors help students find the instrument that best fits their interests and guide them through learning foundational skills or advanced techniques in a supportive, full-band setting.

Camps: What does a typical day at a School of Rock camp look like?

Our camps are incredibly hands-on and action-packed! Students spend their days engaged in instrument-specific instruction, group band rehearsals, and fun music theory exercises. The ultimate goal of our music camps is to teach kids how to play together as a cohesive band, building teamwork, confidence, and musical proficiency simultaneously.

Camps: Do campers get to perform live at the end of the camp?

Yes! Live performance is the core of the School of Rock Method. Most of our music camps culminate in a real, live rock show. At the end of the session, students get to take the in-school stage and perform the songs they’ve been rehearsing for their family and friends.

Camps: During what times of the year are your music camps offered?

School of Rock Alameda schedules our music camps around local school breaks to make it easy for parents and students. Depending on the time of year, we offer a variety of spring break, winter break, fall, and summer music camps. We recommend checking our local schedule frequently to see what upcoming seasonal camps are scheduled. Additionally, we are open to putting together custom camps for groups of 5 -10 students.
