Greg Moore
Owner
Greg Moore is the owner of the School of Rock locations in Ankeny, Marion, and West Des Moines. After seeing School of Rock students perform in the Chicagoland area years ago, his first thought was, "...WOW—THIS IS AWESOME... Iowa needs a program like this!" From there, he started his mission to bring School of Rock to Iowa.
A big music enthusiast especially appreciating classic rock and '90s alternative, Greg played clarinet and saxophone through his school years. He now enjoys playing bass with the adult student performance group at School of Rock Ankeny and School of Rock West Des Moines. His son is an alumnus of the School of Rock program who still actively plays guitar, bass, and drums while attending college. Greg and his wife, Amy, are thankful for all the families in the school community. Nothing is more exciting to them than watching the students advance both on and off the stage through our programs.
Julian Williams
General Manager
Julian Williams is General Manager at the School of Rock in Ankeny, Iowa. He has been playing music since the fifth grade but decided to officially pick up the bass in the eighth grade, followed by the guitar in 2020.
Julian is a self-taught artist, currently in four bands, and regularly gigs. In addition to rocking out in those bands, Julian also has a solo project called J.J. Williams in the works. Julian listens to an eclectic range of music but his main interest is prog rock. He is also currently attending Berklee Online studying Music Theory and Composition. Julian loves every facet of music composition and loves to share that knowledge with anyone who asks!
Austin Corrick
Music Director, Bass Guitar Teacher, Guitar Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher, Vocal Teacher
Austin Corrick began taking piano lessons at age 8 and guitar lessons at age 11, and soon after joined the school band on upright and electric bass and trumpet through high school.
Currently, Austin plays guitar, bass, drums, vocals, piano, trumpet, and tuba, and is a member of the Des Moines-based Latin music group Son Peruchos. He enjoys all types of rock music and loves participating in a program that sees so much musical talent at such a young age.
Conner Roark
Assistant Music Director, Bass Guitar Teacher, Guitar Teacher, Drums Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher, Vocals Teacher
Conner teaches guitar, bass guitar, keyboard + piano, vocals, and drums at School of Rock Ankeny. He was first introduced to music when he was 3 years old watching his dad play in his band. Conner started playing when he was 13 years old and was self-taught until he went to the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA, and got his Associate of Arts in Guitar Performance and Audio Engineering.
After graduating, Conner moved to Des Moines and has since been involved in the music scene by recording, mixing, and mastering albums for bands needing a solid record. Aside from the instruments he teaches, he also plays the ocarina, recorder, triangle, and kazoo, and he can whistle! Conner mostly listens to and plays metal and hard rock, but he also enjoys dabbling in blues, jazz, funk, R&B, and pop.
Annabelle Prime
Studio Coordinator
Annabelle is the Studio Coordinator for School of Rock at the Ankeny and West Des Moines locations. She took part in musical theater, both in school and at her local community theater. She was also a saxophone player in band for many years. Annabelle loves the welcoming environment of School of Rock and most enjoys getting to see the students thrive on stage.
Alek Graham
Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
Alek Graham is a guitar and bass guitar teacher at the School of Rock in Ankeny, Iowa. Alek is the grandson of a guitar player whom he unfortunately never got to meet, but Alek keeps his spirit alive by playing some of his guitars. Starting the guitar at age 13, Alek began taking lessons and became a School of Rock student shortly thereafter.
Alek is working on writing, recording, and performing his own music, taking inspiration from players such as Steve Vai, Randy Rhoads, Eric Clapton, Joe Perry, and many more. While he was a member of his school's House Band, Alek developed a love for being an instructor by working with students during the summer camps. He loves to teach because he believes that it helps him and others grow musically and find their path in the world of music.
Ausper Atkinson
Little Wing Teacher, Rookies Teacher
Ausper Atkinson is the Little Wing and Rookies instructor at School of Rock Ankeny. They are knowledgeable on the basics of music and have a history of playing low brass and percussion instruments. Ausper's favorite genres of music are jazz, a capella, and comedy music.
Asuper has loved music for many years and has always wanted to contribute in some capacity to musical education. Ausper loves seeing the creativity of the next generation of musicians and wants to help nurture that artistry into the future.
Zach Feldt
Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Vocal Teacher, Piano + Keyboard Teacher
Zach is an alumnus of Waldorf University, graduating with a BA in Vocal Performance. He got his start with music very early on with choir in elementary school, and his love for performance only grew for years to come. While his focus was primarily on voice and piano, he also watched his brother, Brandon, in his early stages of learning guitar and decided he wanted to do so as well. Being self-taught on both guitar and bass, he used these throughout high school and university. He played guitar and bass for various groups, such as show choir and jazz band, and was even the vocalist and bassist of his first college adventure, a rock cover group called The Funk. Zach loves teaching because music has been his entire life for as long as he can remember. He loves spreading the joy that music has brought him to others. Currently, you can find Zach playing bass for local solo artist, Lani.
Eric Panyan
Drum Teacher
Eric Panyan is a drum instructor at the School of Rock in Ankeny, Iowa. He was accepted into and graduated from the Baltimore School for the Arts after an initial audition. He then graduated from the Berklee College of Music.
Eric began playing drums at an early age after his first viewing of the Muppet Show and seeing Animal playing the drums—Eric was hooked! He started taking lessons and drumming became his lifelong passion. Eric enjoys all genres of music including rock, funk, jazz, classic rock, and blues.
Eric likes to keep his lessons loose, fun, and relaxed yet challenging at the same time. It is always a great joy for him to see his students grow musically, reach new heights, and achieve the same passion for drumming he has.
Timothy Bohnenkamp
Drum Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher, Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
Timothy Bohnenkamp is a keys and drum instructor at the School of Rock in Ankeny, Iowa. As a kid, he started taking piano lessons from his mother and playing in church.
Tim began playing percussion and then drums at the age of 10, and was All-State in Iowa for concert band and jazz band as a senior at Valley High School. He graduated from the University of North Texas with a bachelor's degree in music, and ever since then, he has been studying music while raising a family.
Justin Whisler
Drum Teacher
With over 20 years of experience playing with multiple bands and ensembles, Justin has a solid grasp of what it takes to be a great drummer! He began drumming when he was 15 years old and quickly decided that he wanted to continue to pursue music.
Justin graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in music and has taken those lessons with him ever since. His teaching style focuses on what the student already knows, and how to use that foundation to foster more creative playing. Justin also plays hand drums and auxiliary percussion, making the drum experience more rounded and applicable to many genres.
Garrett McFarland
Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
Garrett McFarland is a Des Moines-based composer and multi-instrumentalist. At School of Rock, he is a guitar and bass guitar teacher. Additional instruments of expertise are mandolin and ukulele. Garrett has worked with bands and musicians of virtually every genre, but he specializes in metal, prog rock, and classical. He also specializes in teaching music theory and music composition. His favorite aspect of teaching is helping students learn how to express their God-given creativity through the language of music composition, which he believes perfectly showcases the uniqueness of every individual.
Tim Trewet
Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
Tim Trewet is a guitar teacher and bass guitar teacher at School of Rock Ankeny in Ankeny, Iowa. He is a self-taught musician, playing guitar since he was 12. Later on, he decided to pick up bass so he could record songs on his own in his bedroom studio.
Tim is close to graduating from Berklee College of Music online with a degree in Music Production and Engineering. Although he likes all kinds of music, he specifically loves rock and heavy metal. He plays for a couple local metal bands around the metro area.
Ben Tullis
Drum Teacher
Ben Tullis is a drum teacher at School of Rock Ankeny in Ankeny, Iowa. He has had a drum set since sixth grade after playing Rock Band extensively throughout his childhood.
Ben is a self taught drummer with some guidance from his dad’s car drumming and the school band through eighth grade. He has played in three bands and is looking for his next pickup. Ben loves rock music and is excited to share music with anyone who asks.
