Jerry Hayek
Co-Owner and General Manager
As school Co-Owner and General Manager, Jerry brings a diverse background. A Galveston, TX native, Jerry has over 25 years in corporate business in Houston, San Francisco and Seattle, including senior marketing roles at Microsoft, Exxon, several advertising agencies and his own marketing consulting firm, Since 2014, Jerry has been involved with School of Rock, where he previously built two schools and held the role of Vice President of Operations for a multi-unit franchisee. Jerry combines his passion for music as a performing bassist and guitarist, with his business acumen to deliver the very best music education experience for customers and staff. Jerry holds a Bachelor of Business and an MBA from the University of Houston.
Geneva Hitzel
Assistant General Manager
As a born and raised Houstonian, hearing 94.5 "the Buzz" blasting throughout her parent's minivan as a child was the introduction that established Geneva's devotion to the world of rock n roll. She often claims hearing live bands play is one of life's greatest experiences and that everyone should attend a show at least once in their life.
She was enrolled in vocal/choral classes through her secondary education. With any love of the arts, Geneva strived to be able to pursue her goals in a more professional setting. Therefore, she majored in management and marketing at the University of Houston. After, she followed her love for music and live performance to the live music capital of the world to live out her dreams as assistant general manager at the School of Rock in Cedar Park.
Kate Magierski
Studio Coordinator
Born in San Antonio but raised in Austin, you could say Kate was raised with rock music. With this love for music, Kate found passion in the visuals associated with show posters and album covers. Apart from attending shows and making art, she studies visual design at Austin Community College.
Kate Simpson (Kate Angel)
Vocal Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher, Guitar Teacher
Kate is a dynamic force in the world of music and a dedicated instructor at the School of Rock in Cedar Park. As an alt-rock singer-songwriter and music producer from Austin, TX, Kate embodies a unique blend of classic rock soul and modern alt-rock energy. Her self-written EP VENOM, released on February 14th, 2023, was co-produced with Matt Novesky of Blue October and Kelsey Flanagan at Orb Studios, showcasing her distinctive sound and musical prowess.
A proud alumna of the School of Rock in Round Rock, Kate has been a featured artist on various radio and TV shows and has graced the stage at numerous music festivals. She has shared the spotlight with notable rock musicians such as Orianthi, Lacey Sturm, Liliac, and Icon for Hire.
Kate teaches all levels of voice in IVA and mixed styles, as well as beginner piano and guitar. She is currently pursuing a degree in music business, performance, and technology, and is set to graduate in December 2024. Her passion for music and commitment to nurturing young talent make her an exceptional addition to the School of Rock in Cedar Park team.
Michael Wolf
Bass Guitar Teacher, Guitar Teacher
Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Michael comes from a family deeply rooted in local music. He has played instruments since 10 and has been with School of Rock for many years. Michael is a former School of Rock student and was part of his school's House Band. He has performed at several iconic venues and festivals including ACL, SXSW, and Summerfest.
Michael is pursuing a music business and audio engineering degree at Austin Community College.
Ashton Shelton
Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher, Drum Teacher, Vocal Teacher
Ashton is a multi-instrumentalist songwriter and composer. He began playing guitar at 6 and has picked up other instruments including drums, bass, piano, and the Arabic Oud. As a guitarist, Ashton played in the band CRVNCH regularly around Austin between 2019 and 2022. He has studied classical guitar and is working towards a music composition degree.
Teddy Shrader
Music Director, Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Ukulele Teacher
Born in Pasadena, California, Teddy Shrader has been rocking stages and sharing his love of music for over 30 years, with over 500 performances worldwide. As a dedicated guitar, bass, and ukulele teacher for 20 years, Teddy even helped Fender design their award-winning Fender Play app, inspiring musicians everywhere.
Beyond teaching and performing, Teddy’s creativity shines in media and content creation. He’s written, produced, and voiced projects for Fortune 500 brands, programmed music for Air Force One under three presidents, and led YouTube Music’s American and Canadian Music Programming Team.
Teddy fell in love with Austin during a 2005 tour stop and made it his home in 2020. He has a wife, two amazing kids, three sweet cats, a slithery snake, and a jumping spider. Now, he’s excited to bring his energy and expertise to the students of School of Rock Cedar Park.
Lorenzo Silvio
Drum Teacher, Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
Lorenzo is a drummer, bassist, guitarist, and composer based in Austin, Texas. His first love was drums, which he began playing at age 2. Lorenzo also fell in love with music composition, learning advanced music theory and guitar to help write for his band Pulseweaver.
Lilly Newcomb
Keyboard Teacher, Vocal Teacher
Lilly is a graduate of School of Rock Round Rock. As a student there, she performed at SXSW and other major Austin music events. Previously, Lilly taught at the School of Rock South West Austin and Round Rock locations before joining the Cedar Park staff. She is proficient at teaching students ages 4-18+ across several instruments, including violin, cello, bass (upright and guitar), guitar, keys, vocals, and other smaller stringed instruments.
Grace Cotter
Vocal Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher
Grace has been singing for as long as she can remember and has been playing piano since the age of 8. A true Austin native, Grace honed her skills as a performer during her time in the Austin School of Rock’s House Band, where she rocked the stage at legendary events like ACL, Summerfest, SXSW, and even the UT Stadium. From 2015 to 2020, School of Rock became her second home, shaping her into the dedicated musician and mentor she is today.
Grace isn’t just a teacher—she’s a real working musician who has been writing and releasing original music since middle school. For Grace, music is more than a hobby; it’s a lifeline and a form of self-expression where every lyric and melody comes from the heart. She brings that same passion into her teaching, inspiring students to find their own voices and confidence through music, just like her teachers did for her.
In addition to her music career, Grace is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, set to graduate in October 2027. Her passion for mental health awareness and curiosity about the human mind fuels both her creativity and her teaching style, creating a welcoming space where every student can thrive. Whether on stage or in the classroom, Grace believes music has the power to transform lives—and she’s excited to help her students discover that for themselves.
