Our talented adult band from Cedar Rapids, “Student Driver,” finished up another season with a Lollapalooza show. Our friends from “Strip Mall Cryptids,” the Ankeny adult band, also made the trip and played a great One-Hit Wonders set. 

We’re back at The Ideal Theater & Bar! The spacious and beautiful venue with amazing acoustics is always a great place for our musicians. This season, the Cedar Rapids adult band focused on the “Lollapalooza” theme. Their set featured songs from Soundgarden, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots, and the Beastie Boys among other artists.

The Ankeny adult band played songs from their One Hit Wonder set list, songs that everyone can sing along to, including 500 Miles, Tubthumping, Mickey, I Want Candy, and 99 Red Balloons. What’s special about musicians is how adaptable they are! Something popped up last-minute for some band members and not everyone could make it, but the remaining members adjusted and still managed to put on an amazing show.

It’s always heartwarming to see our friends, family, and community members show up to support us! Until the next show… We’re already working on a brand-new list of songs.
