This camp will do a deep dive into the 21st century metal bands that are making an impact today around the world!

Camp description

Metal Camp focuses on the vibrant and varied heavy metal scene in 2025 with bands pushing the boundaries while still honoring metal’s roots. Bands like Spiritbox, Bad Omens, and Japanese Girl Metal are reaching new heights worldwide with albums that combine crushing riffs and soaring melodies. Get ready to learn and perform explosive metal hits of today!

To enroll in this camp, students must be 12-18 years old and have intermediate to advanced experience on their instrument. After your camp purchase, a member of our team will reach out with a student information form to prepare for a rockin' week! 

Camp hours are Monday-Friday from 9AM-2:30PM with a final show at an iconic Chicago venue at the end of the week! Venue TBD.

what to expect

Come ready to rock from 9:00am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday. Lunch will be eaten outdoors (weather permitting). Please pack a lunch, snacks, water, and hearing protection for all camp days. There will be a performance at a nearby venue on Friday at 12:30pm. Friends and family are welcome!

cancellation policy

The health and safety of our students is our top priority. Camps that are canceled up to 15 days prior to the start of camp can receive a full refund of an account credit to be used for any School of Rock Chicago West program/camp or a refund back to the card used minus a $50 cancellation fee. If the camp is canceled within 14 days of the start of the camp, full refund of an account credit to be used for any School of Rock Chicago West program/camp or a 50% refund back to the card used.
