Best of the 80’s Camp – School of Rock
Our Best of the 80’s Camp takes students back to the decade of big hooks, big hair, synths, shredding guitars, and unforgettable rock anthems. This camp dives into the iconic sounds of the 1980s — from arena rock and metal, to new wave, pop, and early alternative — giving young musicians the chance to play the songs that defined a generation. This camp is perfect for students who love fun, upbeat, high-energy music and want to perform some of the most iconic hits in rock and pop history. Whether they’re longtime fans or discovering the decade for the first time, campers will build confidence, sharpen their skills, and experience what it’s like to rock the 80’s style.
Throughout the week, campers will:
- Learn and rehearse music from legendary 80’s artists such as Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Journey, Pat Benatar, Prince, The Police, Motley Crue, Joan Jett, and many more
- Explore the signature musical elements of the decade, including huge guitar riffs, soaring vocals, driving drum grooves, and synth-heavy arrangements
- Form bands and collaborate on performance-ready arrangements
- Receive coaching on musicianship, tone, technique, and stage presence from our professional instructors
- Prepare for a final performance where they’ll bring the spirit and energy of the 80’s to the stage
WEEKLY SCHEDULE
- Camp runs Monday - Friday, 9am - 3pm each day
- Each day consists of rehearsals, practice time and fun music-based games and activities
- On Friday, campers will play and perform the songs they’ve been working on throughout the week!
WHAT TO EXPECT
Students can expect an exciting and educational week of learning music taught by our talented camp instructors. Each day, students will be asked to bring lunch, snacks, water, and hearing protection.
At School of Rock, we are committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all campers. To help us maintain this space, we ask parents to avoid packing any nut products in lunches or snacks. We also prohibit any toy or real weapons from being brought to camp.
