Join us as we celebrate and perform the harder-edged side of Rock and Roll in our 5-day Heavy Metal Rock Camp!
Metal Camp – School of Rock
Our Metal Camp is designed for students who want to dive into the powerful, high-energy world of heavy metal. From classic metal pioneers to modern metal icons, this camp gives young musicians the chance to explore intense riffs, soaring vocals, aggressive drum grooves, and the unmistakable attitude that defines the genre.
Throughout the week, campers will:
- Learn and rehearse songs from bands such as Black Sabbath, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Slipknot, Judas Priest, and more
- Study hallmark metal techniques, including palm-muted riffing, double-kick drumming, melodic and harmonic minor patterns, rhythmic precision, and dynamic stage presence
- Work together in bands to build tight ensemble playing and performance confidence
- Receive focused coaching from our instructors on tone, technique, timing, and stylistic authenticity
- Prepare for a final performance where they’ll deliver a high-powered metal set for family and friends
Metal Camp is ideal for students who love big guitars, heavy grooves, fast drums, and high-intensity music. Whether they’re longtime metal fans or brand-new to the genre, campers will develop musicianship, teamwork, confidence, and the thrill of performing metal the way it was meant to be played — loud, precise, and full of energy.
WEEKLY SCHEDULE
- Camp runs Monday - Friday, 9am - 3pm each day
- Each day consists of rehearsals, practice time and fun music-based games and activities
- On Friday, campers will play and perform the songs they’ve been working on throughout the week!
WHAT TO EXPECT
Students can expect an exciting and educational week of learning music taught by our talented camp instructors. Each day, students will be asked to bring lunch, snacks, water, and hearing protection.
At School of Rock, we are committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all campers. To help us maintain this space, we ask parents to avoid packing any nut products in lunches or snacks. We also prohibit any toy or real weapons from being brought to camp
"School of Rock Clark completely exceeded our expectations. My child came home from camp every day excited, inspired, and more confident than ever. The instructors were amazing and truly cared about helping each kid grow. By the end-of-week performance, we couldn’t believe how much progress they made. It was an unforgettable experience — we can’t recommend it enough."
