Sofia Soriano

Sofia Soriano’s love of music started at home, surrounded by a family that always had something playing. That spark grew into a deep passion during her teenage years as she explored artists across decades and genres, eventually leading her to songwriting and music production. She picked up guitar, bass guitar, and keyboard, and began teaching three and a half years ago with a focus on helping students discover their own musical voice.
Sofia is an active member of Miami’s local scene and plays in the indie band Stillblue. In addition to teaching vocals, guitar, bass guitar, and keyboard + piano, Sofia is currently the Assistant Music Director at School of Rock Coral Gables.
Ryan Caraballo
Vocal Teacher
Ryan Caraballo is a musician with 17 years of experience under their belt. A graduate of the New World School of the Arts classical voice program Ryan has performed all throughout Florida as both a soloist and a member of the New World School of the Arts concert choir, additionally Ryan has performed with the Civic Chorale of Greater Miami and the Florida All-State Concert-Choir as a featured soloist. Ryan is a voice teacher at the School of Rock in Coral Gables with an emphasis on vocal pedagogical backed technique and an affinity for 90’s alternative and 70’s disco.
Andrew Alonso
Drum Teacher
Andrew Alonso is a drum instructor at the School of Rock in Coral Gables. He began his musical journey at the age of 7 as a School of Rock student. During which, he also learned to play the guitar, bass, piano, and harmonica to expand his understanding of the role each instrument plays in an ensemble.
Andrew attended Christopher Columbus High School and was a member of the jazz band, which was awarded Best Jazz Ensemble and Best Overall Ensemble at the World Strides Music Competition. He is currently working toward his Bachelor of Music in Music Industry at the University of Miami, studying under the renowned Steve Rucker of the Bee Gees and John Yarling, a respected drummer in Miami, Florida.
In addition to his studies, Andrew is involved in recording sessions, co-writing, and performing live shows with up-and-coming artists from various genres, including country, funk, rock, folk, R&B, soul, and blues, among countless others.
Adrian Perez
Bass Guitar Teacher, Guitar Teacher, Drum Teacher
Adrian is one of our versatile instructors who teaches a variety of instruments. He is an active participant in both Miami’s rock and jazz scenes, performing in many different groups and styles, primarily on electric and upright bass.
He has spent many years listening to, playing, and studying music from around the world, with a special appreciation for jazz and all things experimental. With experience as a teacher, performer, band leader, composer, and producer, Adrian continues to seek opportunities and broaden his horizons.
Being a School Of Rock graduate himself, he is enthusiastic to give students the same appreciation and dedication for music that his teachers instilled in him. Adrian is a bass, guitar, drums, and piano teacher at both the School of Rock in Coral Gables, and the School of Rock in Doral, Florida.
Krish Patel
Drum Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Guitar Teacher
Krish is one of our school’s drum teachers and rehearsal instructors. He is a current student at the University of Miami, earning a bachelor's degree in the music industry. Krish is a professional musician and producer outside of school spending 11 years at the School of Rock West Los Angeles and having experience in 30+ shows and multiple years in Houseband. He has performed with various bands, and recorded and published professional songs. He has played in many prominent venues around the LA district. In addition to the drums, he has had years of experience playing and taking music lessons in instruments like bass and guitar. Krish loves listening to and playing rock and roll music, driving inspiration from bands like Led Zepplin, The Grateful Dead, and The Doors. Krish is a drum, bass, and guitar teacher at the School of Rock in Coral Gables and Coconut Grove in Miami, Florida.
Mitchell Mattox
Drum Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher
Born and raised in Arizona, Mitchell Mattox learned the joy of music from listening to Motown and classic rock on the radio- his favorite band and first concert being Rush in 2007. After playing the game Rock Band 2 for dozens of hours with his brother, Mitchell decided to try out the real thing by taking drum lessons from a seasoned local teacher, Clyde Score. School orchestras and jazz bands steered him in a new musical direction, exposing him to the music of Count Basie and Miles Davis among numerous others; he still loved punk and ska all the while. An experienced professional drummer and former Miami resident Chad Eisinger mentored Mitchell, teaching him and guiding him through college auditions. At the University of Miami, Mitchell filled his days and nights with as many playing opportunities as possible- from studio sessions to rehearsals and gigs. After graduating fall of 2019, Mitchell has been a teacher, touring drummer, session musician, music producer, and more. Based in South Miami, Mitchell has played on stages around the US, London, and Mexico.
David Castrillon

David is a dedicated and experienced musician with over eight years of playing and performing experience. Originally from Cali, Colombia, he specializes in guitar, bass, and piano, bringing a well-rounded and dynamic approach to music education.
As a passionate multi-instrumentalist, David thrives on inspiring students to discover their unique musical voices. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Music Business & Technology, he combines technical expertise with a deep understanding of the creative process to empower students of all skill levels.
Whether teaching foundational techniques or guiding advanced players, David is committed to helping every student succeed while cultivating a love for music that lasts a lifetime.
Nicole Spinelli
Vocal Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher
Born and raised in Miami Beach, FL, Nicole Spinelli is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, teacher, and intern in music therapy. She has been practicing and pursuing music for over 18 years, beginning at the age of 4 with voice and piano, and later gravitating to clarinet and saxophone. At the age of 16, Nicole became the drum major of her high school. As a global musician, she has performed in places like Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Australia in the Sydney Opera House, Washington D.C. for Kennedy’s Centorium, Steinmetz Hall in Orlando, and the Adrienne Arsht Center for performances like Carmina Burana and musicals like In the Heights and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. She loves listening, playing, and teaching music of all different kinds to all ages.
Dani Martell
Vocal Teacher, Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
Dani is a versatile vocal and multi-instrumentalist instructor at School of Rock Coral Gables, with over 15 years of experience in music. He has dedicated his career to studying, practicing, creating, writing, and recording all kinds of music. Trained in music theory and classical/jazz guitar at schools such as Art Musica and Ars Nova, he later pursued songwriting, composition, production, and performance at Berklee College of Music in Boston, obtaining his Bachelor’s degree.
During his time at Berklee, Dani earned scholarships from prestigious institutions like the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation, ASCAP, and Taco Bell. He also worked and performed alongside renowned artists, including Juanes, Sebastián Yatra, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Nicky Jam, and Tony Succar. In addition, he spent a year as the lead singer for The Standard, a Top 40 and rock band in Boston, gaining valuable live performance experience across multiple genres.
Now, as a music teacher at School of Rock Coral Gables, Dani is passionate about inspiring the next generation of musicians. He brings his extensive experience as a performer, songwriter, and instrumentalist to help students develop their skills and confidence on stage.
Sebastian Garcia

Sebastian Garcia is a dynamic multi-instrumentalist and dedicated music instructor with a passion for helping students grow both technically and creatively. Specializing in guitar, drums, bass, and piano, he brings a well-rounded approach to music education.
Currently earning his Bachelor of Arts in Music Business at the University of Miami, Sebastian combines academic knowledge with real-world experience. As a seasoned live performer and songwriter, he has worked across a wide range of musical styles, giving him the versatility to connect with students of all backgrounds and interests.
With a strong foundation in music theory and performance, Sebastian empowers his students at School of Rock Coral Gables to become confident musicians—on stage and beyond.
Andres Gonzalez

A graduate of Loyola University New Orleans, Andres is a professional performing musician with years of experience across a wide range of genres including rock, jazz, and pop. His passion for both creating and teaching music shines through in every lesson, and he’s committed to helping students of all backgrounds grow as confident, expressive musicians. Andres Gonzalez is a drums, guitar, and bass guitar teacher at School of Rock Coral Gables.
Joseph Bilbao
Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
Joseph Bilbao is a guitar and bass guitar teacher at School of Rock Coral Gables. A proud former student of School of Rock, he began playing music at age eleven and quickly developed a deep passion for both guitar and bass guitar. During his time as a student, he immersed himself in a wide range of musical styles and honed his skills through performance and practice. Joseph also played guitar in the jazz band at Christopher Columbus High School, performing across South Florida.
He recently earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida. In addition to teaching at School of Rock Coral Gables, Joseph is the founder of Instruments of Hope, a nonprofit initiative that organizes benefit concerts in South Florida to raise funds for pediatric cancer research, combining his love for music with a commitment to meaningful impact.
Jose Salazar
Drums Teacher, Guitar Teacher
Jose first picked up the drums after being inspired by Slipknot’s Joey Jordison, quickly diving into the heavy grooves of nu metal with bands like System of a Down and Linkin Park. As his musicianship grew, he explored the intricate sounds of math rock and progressive music, drawing influence from Polyphia and Covet.
Now an teacher at School of Rock Coral Gables, Jose teaches drums and guitar, sharing his passion and versatility with students of all ages. Whether guiding a beginner through their first beat or helping an advanced player master complex riffs, Jose blends technical precision with a love for music that inspires every student to play with heart.
Nicolas Plesko
Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Vocal Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher
Nicolas Plesko is a guitarist and bassist originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Nic was playing guitar by age seven and gradually took up bass guitar and vocals as he grew up. His brother and sister also played music, so they formed a family band called Pinky Swear and played local venues in their hometown.
He pursued music in college and got his undergraduate degree in music theory and composition from the University of Florida. While Nic was studying for his undergrad, he was in a band called The Mangoes, where he played bass, did backup harmonies, and ran sound. He is currently teaching guitar, bass, and vocals at School of Rock Coral Gables while studying for a master’s degree in music education from Florida International University. His biggest musical inspirations include Alice in Chains, Phillip Glass, and Steve Reich.
Diego Gamez
Drum Teacher, Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
Diego Alejandro Gamez is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and educator with over a decade of experience in performance, songwriting, and music production. He began his musical journey at the age of seven on drums before expanding into guitar and production.
He has worked with major industry organizations including Sony Music Latin, where he served as a Studio Coordinator, gaining hands-on experience in professional recording environments and artist development. Beyond his work as a recording artist and producer, Diego is an active member of the Miami indie scene playing in acts such as Stillblue and ReInform, each exploring sound through a deeply collaborative and genre-fluid lens.
At School of Rock Coral Gables, Diego teaches guitar, bass guitar, and drums, emphasizing musicianship, creativity, and artistic authenticity. His teaching philosophy centers on helping students find their unique voice while grounding their craft in strong technical and compositional foundations.
Sofia Hernandez
Vocal Teacher
Sofia Hernandez is a passionate vocal teacher, songwriter, and performing artist. She is a Berklee College of Music graduate and Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation Ambassador who has performed on major national stages, including opening for Justin Bieber’s Purpose Tour in Peru and collaborating with the National Symphony Orchestra.
She has spent years developing her craft as a songwriter, composing original music for film and collaborating closely with producers and directors. Sofia has also worked in studio settings as both a songwriter and vocal producer, earning credits with artists including Rauw Alejandro, Laura Pausini, and Belén Aguilera.
Sofia loves helping students discover music with curiosity, confidence, and joy, and specializes in developing strong foundational vocal skills through healthy technique, emotional connection and creative expression. She is a vocal teacher at School of Rock Coral Gables.
