It's July and that means that the Summer Season is taking off! Read on to hear more about what's happening at School of Rock Elmhurst...
Venues have been announced for the Performance Program and the Adult Program shows!
Performance Program Show
The venue for the performance program show on October 1st has been revealed! Our Summer Season Performance Program will be happening at Heroes West in Lemont! The performance will feature students from our Performance Program as they pay tribute to some of the great music festivals including: Lollapalooza, Lilith Fair, Woodstock, and Coachella.

Adult Program Show
The venue for the next adult show, on October 7th, has been revealed as well! It will be at Q Bar in Darien and will feature the two adult bands and the young adult band.

School of Rock Dupage County at Summerfest
School of Rock will be back at Milwaukee Summerfest this year, with all three School of Rock DuPage County Housebands rockin' out at the world's largest music festival! Tickets for the day start at $25, and multi-day passes start at $60. School of Rock will be on the Briggs Stratton Stage from 12PM-3PM, with each band playing a 45 minute setlist. Milwaukee's far from Chicago, but we won't let that stop us from supporting our Houseband musicians!

Houseband will be playing with the AllStars
School of Rock Elmhurst's Houseband will be performing with School of Rock AllStars at Reggie's Rock Club in Chicago. The concert takes place on Saturday July 30th from 12pm to 4pm.

The AllStars will be performing on July 30th at Reggies Rock Club led by School of Rock Elmhurst’s Music Director, CJ Grandberry, the midwest AllStars Director. Look out for School of Rock Elmhurst’s Houseband performing with the AllStars!

Coleen Spapperi
Studio Coordinator
Coleen Spapperi has a long and diverse background in the music industry. From her humble beginnings as a popular club DJ in the 1980s, to being the field sales rep for Universal Music Group. Coleen is a graduate of Columbia College with a BA in Music Business Management. She has a plethora of very diverse experience in the music business, including work as a Music Sales Representative for UNI and has worked with clients such as Tower Records, Virgin Records and many independent retailers. She co-founded Dr. Robert’s Productions with her late husband, Producer Steve Spapperi.
Nour Yamanita
Studio Coordinator
After successfully begging their parents for a guitar for Christmas, Nour began playing guitar and taking lessons at School of Rock at 14. As soon as Nour began to learn to play chords, they began writing songs of their own. During their time at School of Rock, Nour participated in three seasons of shows and began taking voice lessons as well. At SUNY Oneonta, Nour earned a BA in Music Industry and began their own band, It Keeps Snowing, their sophomore year. Nour was the band's main songwriter and manager. While at college, It Keeps Snowing released an EP titled "Everything You Want Me To Be" in February 2019. It Keeps Snowing played locally in New York and the tri-state area before the band's end after the members graduated in 2020. Since then, Nour has continued to write songs. record demos, and has recently begun to learn to play piano.

Rock 101 Performance Camp
Want to play in a band onstage? Our Rock 101 camp is designed for beginners 8-12 years of age. No experience necessary! Students will explore their instruments through musical games and activities. Our nurturing environment makes this the perfect camp for budding musicians. Students will work on songs Monday through Friday and the camp will culminate in a concert at the end of the week for family and friends.

Best of the 70's Performance Camp
Campers will learn the music of 70s rock icons such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones in our Best of the 70's summer camp. In addition to songs, students will learn about rock history and the stagecraft needed to perform on a stage. At the end of the week, students will put on a live performance. Great for students 8-18 years of age who have had some previous instruction.

Best of the 80's Performance Camp
The 80s brought us a wave of new sounds and genres, and produced hits that still rock the airwaves today. In this camp, we’ll perform hits from artists like Billy Idol, Devo, Cyndi Lauper, Van Halen, Flock of Seagulls and many more. Monday through Friday will be spent learning and practicing songs from the 80s, all culminating in a live performance.Great for students 8-18 years of age who have had some previous instruction.

Best of the 90's Performance Camp
The 90s were one of music’s most important decades as grunge and alternative music took over the airwaves and popular culture. Come celebrate bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Green Day, Weezer and many more in our Best of the 90s summer camp. Students will spend Monday through Friday learning and practicing songs from the 90s, all culminating in a live performance. Great for students 8-18 years of age who have had some previous instruction.
