Young Rockers Camp is for beginner or younger students 7 - 10 years of age. No previous experience needed.
Want to play in a band onstage? Our Young Rockers Camp is designed for beginners 7 - 10 years of age. No experience necessary! Students will explore their instruments through musical games and activities. Our nuturing environment makes this the perfect camp for budding musicians. Students will work on songs Monday through Friday and the camp will culminate in a concert at the end of the wee for family and friends.

MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, 9:30AM - 3:30PM
HERE IS WHAT A TYPICAL DAY OF CAMP LOOKS LIKE:
Band members will be cast on songs and learn between 3 to 5 songs in just one week, depending on how much they can handle as a band. At the end of the week, the kids will perform a live rock concert on Friday afternoon for family and friends! The set list will be decided first thing Monday morning after students are introduced to each other and the staff. We will do our best to gauge what the kids are interested and what will help each of them progress the most as musicians.
DAILY ACTIVITIES OUR CAMPERS WILL PARTAKE IN:
- Team building exercises, games, and trivia contests to learn about fellow "band mate" campers and our camp directors.
- Sectional by instrument to cover the fundamentals of playing music in a band setting.
- Workshops on various topics such as note values, blues improv, stagecraft, music theory, etc.
- Stage presence exercises.
- The end of camp culminates in a live performance at a local venue! Previous venues have included the Greenway Court Theater on Fairfax and the Zephyr Theater on Melrose.
UNLESS NOTIFIED OTHERWISE SHOWTIME ON FRIDAY WILL BE BETWEEN 2 & 2:30.
- Students will need to be picked up on friday no later than 1:30pm to be transported to the venue.
STUDENTS MUST BRING AND WEAR HEARING PROTECTION AT ALL TIMES WITHIN OUR REHEARSAL ROOMS.
- Rock music is intended to be played loud and we want to make sure our campers ears are well protected!
- We do provide a limited number of isolated headphones & have single use ear plugs available for $1 at the front desk.
INSTRUMENTS ARE PROVIDED DURING THE CAMP WEEK BUT CAMPERS ARE WELCOME TO BRING THEIR OWN GUITARS.
PREFER TO GET SOME MORE ONE-ON-ONE INSTRUCTION PRIOR, DURING, OR AFTER THE CAMP?
At an additional cost we can provide add-on lessons to your Summer Camp plan. These can be booked before your scheduled week of camp, during camp week after 3:30pm, or you can keep the music going after camp week!
