School of Rock Sacramento Launches “Rock It Forward,” Turning Unused Instruments into Opportunities for Local Youth

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

School of Rock Sacramento Launches “Rock It Forward” to Provide Free Instruments to Local Youth

Sacramento, CA — School of Rock Sacramento is proud to present “Rock It Forward,” a community music event focused on giving instruments a second life and making music accessible to all.

Taking place on Saturday, May 3rd from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Rock It Forward invites the community to donate gently used musical instruments — including guitars, keyboards, amps, and more — which will be gifted to kids who may not otherwise have access to music.

This free, family-friendly event will also feature:

Live performances from School of Rock student and staff bands
A preview of upcoming summer show themes
A House Band–hosted jam session open to all musicians
Try-an-instrument stations and mini lessons with instructors
Opportunities for local businesses to participate as community vendors
In addition to donating instruments, community members are encouraged to get involved by performing, hosting a booth, or volunteering to help distribute instruments and guide new players as they begin their musical journey.

“Music has the power to change lives, and access to instruments should never be a barrier,” said Cecilia Yi, co-owner of School of Rock Sacramento. “Rock It Forward is about bringing our community together through music and creating access where it’s needed most.”

The event is open to the public, and all are welcome to attend, play, donate, or simply enjoy a day of live music and community connection.
