School of Rock Glenbrook teaches guitar, bass guitar, drums, keyboard + piano, and singing + vocals. What sets School of Rock apart from traditional music lessons is our Method™ which combines one-on-one instruction with group rehearsals and live performances, teaching students how to play together as a band.

Yes! At School of Rock Glenbrook we have two Adult Bands for students over 18 years old, Study Hall for beginners and Grad School for more experienced musicians working toward a live show! Both programs include one weekly private lesson and a weekly group rehearsal and all students are assigned specific songs as a way of learning key music concepts and skills.
The School of Rock Glenbrook House Band ("Show Team") is a by-audition group of our top young performers, who are exemplary in both skill and service and plays dozens of gigs in our community each year. Show Team members represent our school’s inclusive and positive culture and commitment to excellence in music education. School of Rock Glenbrook's Show Teams have performed at Lollapalooza, Milwaukee Summerfest, Northbrook Days, Glenview Summerfest & Blocktoberfest, Shermerfest, Lurie Foundation’s Children’s Ball, Cubby Bear, Reggies Live, and many venues, parties, and special events all over Chicagoland!
Another advanced program at School of Rock Glenbrook is the School of Rock AllStars Tour, which takes the very best students from around the world and sends them on a nationwide summer tour across the United States. Less than 1% of School of Rock students are selected each year to represent School of Rock as an AllStar. All Performance Program students are eligible to audition for this prestigious program. The intensive audition process starts off with video submissions followed by live auditions. Once selected, AllStar students will have an authentic touring experience including traveling on a tour bus, doing tour publicity and starring in nightly performances at famous venues and festivals during a two-week tour.
At School of Rock Glenbrook, most of our programs are a monthly commitment and we require 30-days notice to cancel any enrollment. Our Performance Program and Grad Sc hool (Adult Band) programs require a seasonal commitment until the end of season performances, and generally follow a cycle of Jan-May (Spring), June-August (Summer) and September-December (Fall). Little Wing, Rookies, Rock 101, and Study Hall are rolling enrollment throughout the year.
School of Rock Glenbrook offers a wide variety of music camps and workshops. Our local music camps are perfect for musicians of various skill levels who want to play guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, or vocals. From beginner music camps to intermediate and advanced sessions, our music camps and workshops will further a student's musical foundation. Upcoming Music Camps!School of Rock Glenbrook is closed on Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Winter Break (December 24-Jan 1), and SOR Prep Week (TBA each season). School of Rock Glenbrook is billed on a monthly basis and there are typically about four months out of the year when a student may receive extra lessons/rehearsals at no additional charge. This balances out any missed holidays and we strive to ensure that every student receives an average of four or eight sessions per month (depending on the program) over the course of a show season and calendar year.
