Starting December 1st, we welcomed a new general manager to School of Rock Hinsdale. We want to wish Sean the best of luck in the next chapter of his life, and we're excited to introduce Tommy Evans who will fill the role of General Manager now! School of Rock Students & Families,
As 2021 winds down and we venture into 2022, I would love to introduce some exciting role developments to the School of Rock team!
First off, my name is Tommy Evans! You have probably seen me around the school a bit already. I would like to formally introduce myself as the new General Manager here at School of Rock Hinsdale! I have been a part of the SOR family for the past 8 years as an guitar instructor and Music Director at SOR Elmhurst and am super excited to lead SOR Hinsdale into 2022 as the new GM!
A bit more about my musical background, I am a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. In 2009, I formed the rock band Secret Colours, since then I’ve toured nationally and internationally performing at many notable venues across the US landscape such as 1st Ave in Minneapolis and Lincoln Hall in Chicago. I’ve also been a part of many festivals such as Austin Psych Fest (Levitation) and SXSW. Many of my songs have been featured in TV shows such as Royal Pains, Shameless, Marvel's Hit Monkey and many more. I have worked with producer Brian Deck (Modest Mouse, Gomez, Sage Francis, Iron Wine) to sharpen my songwriting skills and my perception of making records. I graduated from Columbia College with a BA in Audio Design and Production. I’m looking forward to applying my experience in the best ways I can for SOR Hinsdale!
While I'm getting to know everyone, I have been leaning heavily on our excellent program MD's and would ask that you direct any program specific questions to them to ensure the smoothest transition!
Rachel Bandler will be managing our Rookies program! She has shown steadfast leadership in revamping our curriculum to ensure the best experience for the students! She will also be managing students' overall progress within the Rookies program.
John Nugent (Jnugent@schoolofrock.com) is doing a fantastic job leading the charge in Rock 101. John helps lead our team by managing all aspects of the Rock 101 program. This includes song selection, writing transcription, and overall student progress in 101.
Lenny Vertucci (Lvertucci@schoolofrock.com) helps lead our team by managing the Performance Group program. This includes song and theme selection, writing transcriptions, and student placement and overall progress at SOR. Lenny is also the gatekeeper to our incredibly talented Houseband!
Also, our Studio Coordinator Priscilla Garrido (Pgarrido@schoolofrock.com) will continue to lend her administrative, communication and social media skills to the team. She will be incharge of any scheduling that goes on within the school as well!
I am confident this new structure will allow Priscilla, our Program MDs, our team of talented instructors, and myself to continue on with our tradition of excellent musical education.
