Vocals Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Guitar Teacher Llana Williams
Llana Williams
Vocals Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Guitar Teacher
Llana Williams has been immersed in the world of music since she was a child. Growing up, her home was filled with melodies of classic rock, and music videos would often be playing on the TV. From the guitar to the bass guitar, and her personal niche, vocals, Llana’s passion and dedication to mastering each instrument were evident. She spent hours listening to iconic singers like Chris Cornell (Soundgarden) and Hayley Williams (Paramore). Her talent didn’t go unnoticed, either, as she has performed with a plethora of bands throughout Memphis over the years, captivating audiences with her skillful play and heartfelt performances. Music has always been more than just a hobby for Llana; it is the core part of her identity and a source of joy, expression, and fulfillment.

Before discovering her passion for teaching at the School of Rock Memphis, she had been enrolled as a student at School of Rock from 2015 to 2019 as a vocalist and bass guitar player. Her favorite memory from her time as a student was the 2015 performance show called ‘Seattle Slam’ which featured songs from bands based in Seattle. Bands like Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Nirvana, and Pearl Jam propelled her love for rock music even further. Soon after this show, she began helping out with the younger performance groups as well as summer camps. This is how she found out she has a passion for helping the younger generations of musicians as a young musician herself.

With the teachings of Memphis renowned vocalist, Ashton Riker, and bass guitar players Geoff Smith and Blake Rhea, she has learned from some of the best and continues to pass down what these incredible musicians have taught her every day. What she hopes to bring to School of Rock Memphis is to be a model figure as a musician who grew up with this program, and how this is a space for every student to express their creativity, talent, and individuality with their peers.

Chris has been playing the drums for over a decade in the vibrant city of Memphis. Raised in the church, he first picked up the sticks at just five years old, laying the foundation for a lifelong passion for rhythm and music. Surrounded by a deeply musical family, Chris found encouragement in his cousins who all played instruments, but it was his uncle—a phenomenal drummer himself—who became his greatest inspiration.

Over the years, Chris has performed in a wide range of groups and ensembles, showcasing his versatility across gospel, jazz, R&B, and now rock ’n’ roll as the drummer for his band The Narrows. Each style he’s mastered has shaped his unique voice behind the kit, giving him the ability to bring energy, precision, and soul to every performance.

Beyond the stage, Chris is equally devoted to sharing his knowledge and passion with others. His main goal in teaching at School of Rock Memphis is to inspire the next generation of musicians, helping young drummers find their own voice while passing along the skills and insights he’s gained.
