PERFORMANCE PROGRAM: Fleetwood mac
Ages 10-17 | rehearsals: mondays 6:00-8:00
Fleetwood Mac formed as a British Blues group in 1967 and morphed into a chart-topping British-American pop band in the mid-1970s. In 1977 the band released their most critically acclaimed Rumours album, followed by two decades of relevant but less popular releases. After their 1997 recording and MTV premiere of their live soundstage concert, The Dance, the band was brought back into the spotlight and widespread popularity. Fleetwood Mac is an amazing show that will challenge vocalists to master harmonies, guitar players to learn the unorthodox fingerpicking style of Lindsey Buckingham, drummers to study Mick Fleetwood’s extremely versatile drumming, keyboardists to grasp how Christine McVie merged classical-training with rock improvisation, and bassists to learn from John McVie’s creative and rock-solid bass foundations.

Indie Rock began as an underground movement in the late 70s and 80s, then more broadly known following Nirvana’s success in the early 90s as any music that fell outside of mainstream. By the turn of the millennium, Indie Rock was defined by the garage-influenced sounds of bands like The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys, and The Killers. Indie Rock evolved to incorporate varied influences, such as Folk (Brandi Carlile, Phoebe Bridgers), Space Rock (Flaming Lips, Tame Impala), World Music (Florence + The Machine, Arcade Fire) and Electronica (Imagine Dragons, St. Vincent).
