In this special 5-day camp, students will analyze some of the greatest compositions of the last 60 years and learn how to write their own songs. At the end of the week, the students will perform the songs they have written.

CAMP DESCRIPTION

Through this special 5-day Songwriting Camp, students will learn how to write their own songs!  Students will analyze some of the greatest compositions of the last 60 years in order to develop their own tunes.  They will learn about chord progressions, arrangements, and other tricks of the trade.  We'll spend Monday through Friday learning and writing songs, all culminating in a live performance.  This music camp is for students ages 12-18, who have had some previous instruction.  An exception may be made for a student under 12 years old if they are a current student at School of Rock Mokena and have prior approval from his/her instructor.  

(Please be advised that prior musical instruction is a requirement for this camp. Please do not enroll your student unless he/she is at least 12 years old, and has more than a basic grasp on his/her instrument. The student should come to camp with the ability to competently play through basic rock songs. If the student is not able to do this, we have other camp options for beginner students. Thank you!)

Monday-Thursday 10:00am-3:00pm
Friday 10:00am-2:00pm with the Camp Show beginning at 2:00pm
Each Day will consist of rehearsals, practice time and fun music-based games and activities.
