All of School of Rock Murfreesboro’s music teachers are experienced musicians devoted to helping students attain musical proficiency. Our instructors guide students one-on-one to personalize learning, inspire confidence and build social skills.
Cassie Browning
Vocals Teacher, Little Wing and Rookies Instructor
Cassie has over 5 years of experience teaching voice and performing across multiple genres. Currently, she is a Commercial Songwriting major at MTSU and aspires to continue her career in the music industry as an artist/songwriter after graduating. She strives to build confidence in students at School of Rock Murfreesboro not only as musicians, but in every aspect of performing!
Lowell Alexander
Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher
Lowell Alexander was trained at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and Berklee College of Music. He holds both Bachelor of Science in Finance and Bachelor of Arts in Guitar Performance degrees from these institutions. While in college, Lowell worked as a session musician, private guitar instructor, and corporate event performer. Born in Nashville, he is a Murfreesboro native and graduate of Siegel High School.
Lowell teaches guitar, bass guitar, and keyboard + piano at School of Rock Murfreesboro.
Fox DeVaughn
Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Vocals Teacher and Keyboard + Piano Teacher
Fox is a multi-instrumentalist music producer with skills in guitar, bass guitar, keyboard + piano, and vocals as well as audio production and engineering. In addition to teaching at School of Rock Murfreesboro, he is an audio engineering professor at Middle Tennessee State University and a live sound engineer at The End in Nashville. He also produces audio for video games using Wwise and FMOD to implement sounds into the game engine. His primary genre influences are metal, EDM, classical, flamenco, and jazz.
Zoey Moore
Vocals Teacher, Little Wings and Rookies Instructor
Zoey is currently pursuing a degree in Commercial Songwriting at Middle Tennessee State University. She has been singing since a young age and has had the honor of performing the national anthem at NBA and Minor League Baseball games. Her experience includes a wide range of vocal performances, from live events to studio sessions, with a focus on delivering impactful, emotionally resonant music. She is deeply passionate about using her voice and helping others express themselves with music, including students at School of Rock Murfreesboro! Let’s Rock!
Brady Romano
Drums Teacher
Brady is a Drums Teacher and former School of Rock student from Long Beach, NY. With experience in teaching as well as both live and studio performance, Brady is knowledgeable in many genres, taking great inspiration from metal and alternative rock.
When not teaching at School of Rock Murfreesboro, Brady is currently pursuing an Audio Production degree at MTSU and aims to work as a recording engineer in studios after graduating.
Matt Geisel
Music Director
Matt has been playing music, mainly guitar, for many years. He played and toured in multiple rock and metal bands in the 90s, and played in two worship team bands at church. He has also run several companies, building two businesses, and brings excellent organizational, communication and team building skills to the School of Rock Murfreesboro performance programs.
Collin Freyer
Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
Collin is a guitarist from the Knoxville area with a passion for sharing his love of music and knowledge about performing. Although he has been playing for nearly a decade, he began his journey at School of Rock Murfreesboro five years ago as a student and returned to be a teacher in 2024. Collin is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management at MTSU. His musical concepts draw inspiration from rock, metal, punk, and country, blending diverse influences into his teaching and performance.
Johnny Malone
Drum Teacher
Johnny Malone, a Memphis, TN native, is an accomplished percussionist with a bachelor's degree in Recording Industry Management from Middle Tennessee State University. While at MTSU, he served as the primary combo drummer for the university’s renowned jazz band. With over a decade of teaching experience and a lifelong passion for drums that began at age two, Johnny brings both technical skill and deep musicality to his craft, and to teaching at School of Rock Murfreesboro. A highlight of his early career was performing at New York City’s prestigious Carnegie Hall while still in high school.
