In this special 5-day session, students will analyze some of the greatest compositions, work on students own songs and dive into some of the fundamental concepts of recording. Great for students 12-17 years of age with previous instruction.
DESCRIPTION
Through this special 5-day songwriting session, students will learn how to write their own songs. Students will analyze some of the greatest compositions of the last 60 years in order to develop their own tunes. They will learn about chord progressions, arrangements and other tricks of the trade. We’ll spend Monday through Friday learning and writing songs, recording our new original material and all culminating in a live listening party. Great for students 12-17 years of age who have had previous instruction.
Please note: We do ask for this session that participants have some experience in their instrument and have some fundamentals down so that we can ensure that the week is fun for everyone!
WEEKLY SCHEDULE
- Monday - Friday, 12:30am - 4pm each day
- Each day will consist of music appreciation, writing sessions, group listening sessions, practice time and peer feedback
- On Friday, campers will have chance to perform their original compostions or listen to their recordings.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Students can expect an exciting and educational week of learning music taught by our talented instructors. Each day, students will be asked to bring snacks, water and hearing protection (hearing protection will also be available at school).
