MANDEVILLE, La (press release) – School of Rock, a leader in performance-based music education, announces the grand opening of a new school in Mandeville. The event will take place at 1872 N Causeway Blvd., Mandeville, La 70471 from 12-4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10. The event festivities will include performances by the Baton Rouge and Metairie/New Orleans school house bands, tours of the school, tuition incentives and food and drinks.

The Northshore school is led by owner CR Gruver. CR has been a professional musician for over 30 years, with the last 25 spent touring nationally. The Northshore location is CR’s third school, the first being Metairie/New Orleans, Louisiana and the second being Aurora, Colorado. He discovered the School of Rock franchise opportunity while looking for music camps for his 5-year-old daughter, but there were no nearby School of Rock locations at the time. That’s when CR realized he wanted to open a School of Rock location and educate children in his area who aspired to be musicians in the same way he did as a child.

School of Rock provides students of all ages an exciting and engaging music lesson experience, which includes bass lessons, guitar lessons, singing lessons, drum lessons, and piano lessons. Drawing from all styles of rock and roll, School of Rock students learn theory and techniques via songs from legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Lenny Kravitz, and Led Zeppelin. Thanks to the school’s performance-based approach, students around the world have gained superior musical proficiency, with some moving on to record deals and larger platforms such as American Idol, The Voice and Broadway.
