NOW ENROLLING SPRING SHOWS

SPRING IS IN BLOOM WITH ALL NEW SHOWS!

Our Performance Program is what School of Rock is all about! Students are placed in shows and assigned songs to build musical proficiency. The student and the instructor work on individual parts in private lessons, and bring the songs back to the group rehearsal, where they learn about teamwork, collaboration, and playing in a band.  This all culminates with an end-of-season performance at a rock venue.  Signups for our new season begin now!

OUR NEW SEASON STARTS THE WEEK OF JANUARY 8TH! CONTACT US TODAY TO SAVE YOUR SPOT IN THE BAND!

ROCK 101: BEST OF THE 2010'S

AGES 7-10 | WEDNESDAYS OR THURSDAYS, 4:30PM-7:00PM

School of Rock pays tribute to the past decade of Rock and Roll! The 2010s proved that rock and roll is alive and well, with diverse artists such as Adele, Imagine Dragons, Tame Impala, H.E.R., and St. Vincent all rising to prominence in the music world. These current artists combine modern production techniques with retro-sounding riffs and song structures, resulting in today's chart topping hits. While the music itself has generally evolved somewhat from decades past - less guitar solos, more keyboards, and more influence from Hip Hop and R&B - the spirit of Rock and Roll remains as vital as ever. This show will be a stylistically diverse recap of the best music from the decade, featuring modern takes on Punk (Green Day, My Chemical Romance), Blues (Gary Clark Jr., Black Keys), Pop (Taylor Swift, Katy Perry), Rock and Roll (Greta Van Fleet, The Dead Weather), and more! A great show for students of any instrument and experience level.

ROCK 102: ROLLING STONES VS. THE BEATLES

AGES 10-13 | THURSDAYS, 6:45PM-8:45PM OR SUNDAYS, 1:30PM-3:30PM

The Rolling Stones and The Beatles were integral to the development of 1960s counterculture and popular music’s recognition as an art form.  In other words, they made being in a band “cool”.  By the mid 1960’s, both bands achieved international stardom, leading the British Invasion of the United States pop market and breaking numerous sales records.  The music created by both groups has been cherished ever since it’s release, and is regarded as some of the most influential art of all time (no big deal). Listen to:  “Hey Jude”, “Come Together”, “Paint it Black”, and “Satisfaction”.

ROCK 103: PUNK ROCK

AGES 13-HS SENIOR | TUESDAYS, 6:30PM-8:30PM

Punk Rock rose to popularity as a rebellious response to the overcomplicated, pretentious direction that Prog Rock had taken in the 1970s, and as a voice for the anti-establishment movement following the post-Vietnam era. Marked by short, energetic songs with little ornamentation, Punk Rock is more about spirit and feeling than musical technique. This show covers the classic period of the genre, including bands like Sex Pistols, Ramones, The Clash, Blondie, The Stooges, and Patti Smith. Students might hear striking similarities of styles to current Pop Punk bands like Green Day and My Chemical Romance, as the legacy of the original generation of Punk bands continues to inspire artists today. While Punk is a great show for less experienced rockers, it still challenges more advanced students and teaches them the art of showmanship and stage presence. Don your spikes, mohawk, and ripped jeans and get ready for a season of Punk Rock!

ROCK 103: '90S ROCK

AGES 13-HS SENIOR | SUNDAYS, 3:30PM-5:30PM

The ‘90s Rock show is arguably one of the most popular School of Rock shows in our collection.  Packed with a plethora of what are now known as ‘classic rock’ songs, the stylistic spectrum of this show is wide enough to excite any student rocker!  Hard Rock, Singer/Songwriter, Alternative and Indie encompass this decade of music that many parents grew up on! While some connect the era of ‘90s Rock to the Seattle-area Grunge scene with bands like Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam, this show expands to also feature acts like Weezer, Hole, No Doubt, Alanis Morissette, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Green Day. The ‘90s Rock show will stretch any students’ musical progress while delighting and creating nostalgia for their parents!

GRAD SCHOOL: ACDC

AGES 18+ | MONDAYS, 7:30PM-9:00PM

ADVISORY: SOME LYRICAL CONTENT IN THIS SHOW MAY NOT BE APPROPRIATE FOR ALL STUDENTS.

Few rock bands have had the longevity and commercial success of AC/DC. Formed in Sydney, Australia, in the early '70s, the band - led by guitarist brothers Angus and Malcolm Young - quickly began their rise to Hard Rock’ superstardom with the release of their albums High Voltage, T.N.T., and Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. With Bon Scott at the vocal helm, AC/DC gained world-wide fame. After Scott’s untimely passing in 1980, Brian Johnson took over as vocalist and recorded one of the greatest, most influential albums in modern rock: Back In Black, featuring classic songs like “Hells Bells”, “You Shook Me All Night Long”, “Shoot To Thrill”, and of course “Back In Black”. After almost 50 years, AC/DC continues to be a favorite band for generations of fans. This is a perfect show for budding lead guitarists and vocalists, and also provides valuable lessons for bassists and drummers on playing tight grooves in the service of the song. For beginner and intermediate students looking to take their playing to the next level, the AC/DC show is the one!
