Two bands that aren't necessarily alike, Green Day and Nirvana are consistently two of the most popular bands covered at School of Rock. Nirvana was revolutionary in their influence over the rise of Grunge, with songs like "Smells Like Teen Spirit", "Drain You", and "Lithium". Green Day remains one of the most successful punk acts of all time, with a massive catalog of hits including "Still Breathing", "Wake Me Up When September Ends", and "21 Guns". In this camp, we will explore both of these bands, looking at their origins, their influence, and mostly -- their music! This camp will show that we don't always need complexity to create quality music. In Nirvana vs. Green Day, attitude is more important than skill, although we'll work on both!
